Do many Americans not realize their gun rights do not apply to other countries?

its balanced out by all the anti gun foreigners who think their idiotic anti gun laws ought to be imposed on us Americans.

Still its not like Canadians or Europeans can go to the US and stop people from buying or enjoying guns or get rid of the Second Amendment, but brining guns into Canada without declaring them is a violation of Canadian law.

Pot too. Lots of knotheads get turned back because they think their medical card means they can bring pot across the border.

And it's available there already.

I think most Americans assume that other western countries enjoy the same or similar freedoms we do here.

When the UN tries to impose international gun restrictions, how do European nations, and Canada vote? ;)

of course it is. but we have a herd of foreigners on this very board constantly whining about our rights

Self defense is a socially natural right, not dependent on any authority. Canada's infringement is unjust.

Critcizing America's gun laws is not a violation of American law though.

Also consider if Canadians brought undeclared guns into the US, the border guards would not be happy, doubly so if Mexicans tried to sneak undeclared guns into the US.

Undocumented immigrants from Mexico with guns. That would throw the Democrats into a tizzy.

I read an article about how many Americans try to take hand guns into Canada and it made me wonder: do many Americans not realize their gun rights do not apply to other countries?

That seems impossible to me, especially since you cant even freely go state to state with your gun in many cases.(which should not be the case by i digress) But people never stop proving how dumb they are.

Not Mexicans we need to worry about. And for a while they were going the wrong way.

Have fun arguing that in a Canadian court

Last year I went to a Canadian gun show in Chilliwack and spoke to a US-Canadian dual citizen who lives in Canada and he claimed US Guards are stricter on him then Canadians

Why not? If the second amendment is a fundemental right, then by nature of the privileges and immunities clause of the 14th amendment then you should be able to

That's a fair point.

No, it's paranoid nonsense. There are no UN plans to remove guns from people, nor will there ever be. It's an empty NRA talking point that sells more gunz to the ignorant minority.

That's a fair point.

I don't think Canada ratified the arms trade treaty, I know the Harper government didn't and I don't think the current government pushed the issue

Fair enough, I think I might have jumped the gun with that acknowledgement. My bad. I do not think the UN will take away Americans' guns.
