This scenario could have turned out quite differently had the boy not had access to a gun.

Mom should have taught him to use it, but he did OK anyway.

I feel weird cheering on a kid killing someone...I also think he beat some serious odds, as the chances of this going wrong dwarf the actual results. The kid got lucky. I'm glad he's alive.
