An interesting lecture on the second amendment

That is an unfounded opinion, of course. No studies show the left afraid of the gunners' sociopathology but there is a well understood danger if the full gunners' brigade gets its way.

liberal gun haters are afraid of their own perceived incompetence with weapons and are terrified of taking the responsibility of making personal safety an individual duty

This may not be the study per say but I think it does kinda cover it. It's more a study of Hoplophobia and the why's. As there seems to be some here [not saying, just saying].

That's a pretty big strawman you've got there. Personally I support a balance between individual and collective responsibility. Tilt too far in one direction and you have a mess on your hands.

Turtle, someday you are going to figure out that (1) liberals are not this monolith that you apparently think we are, and (2) our views on self-defense are all over the board. Apparently today is not that day.

The fact that there are exceptions does not make his argument a straw man. In fact arguing that he is wrong because there are exceptions is in itself a straw man.

The fact all leftists are not gun banners is irrelevant to the argument. The argument is that, with extremely few exceptions, if any, gun banners in the USA are going to be leftists.

So the discussion is directed to why that is. Or if it isn't true, why isn't it?
