those studies counted these as homes with guns

1) a home with NO guns where an intruder enters the home with a gun and shoots an occupant

2) a home where there are guns but the gun used to shoot or kill someone in the home was brought into the home by someone other than an occupant.

in one case 43 out of 46 incidents of "a gun with a home leads to someone being shot" involved cases where the gun used in the shooting was not possessed in the home or owned by any occupant of the home in question
