Connecticut Rep. Esty Encourages Gun Control Trickery - LPP

According to the Connecticut Post, while speaking to an audience at a recent Pride Fund event Esty said they should never use the term “gun control” but always use the term “gun safety.” Talking about gun control immediately alienates approximately 15 percent of male voters.
PJ Media reported that Esty offered the advice to people who were advocating for tougher gun laws. They simply want to create the impression they’re talking about something else, but when it comes to genuine gun safety, there is only one side that teaches that, and it’s not the gun control crowd.

so when you hear crap like "gun safety" or "common sense" or "reasonable" gun laws you know its going to be more schemes to disarm you and rape your second amendment rights

There goal is obvious, the end game is a flat out ban, crawled towards in incremental degrees under these guises as americans will not embrace an overnight all out ban.

I call on reasonable people to see this, great post Turtledude!:applaud

Another thread of lying shilling for the gun manufacturers through NRA mouth pieces.

He is absolutely correct. Not only am I NOT a member of the NRA, since there silence on the Castile verdict, even less so now. So don't even step with that nonsense. Either present an argument with evidence supporting your ignorant claim, or admit you are clueless on this subject.

There's plenty of "dishonesty" on both sides.

What about it is lying Jet?

"Schemes to disarm you", is an outright lie. "Gun control Trickery" is just BS aimed at the ignorant.

stop the nonsense Jet. California proves Kal is right and you are wrong

except they are quoting an anti gun politician. the fact is gun controllers lie about their motives

they lie about guns

do you remember these lies

1) any magazine of ten rounds or more is only for warfare

2) AR-15s are weapons of war-but MI carbines are not

those are lies Jet

sure it is

1) the claim that public safety motivates the leaders of this movement is nonsense

2) the claim that disarming or limiting honest people will impede those who already violate the law is nonsense

3) the fact is-the gun ban or gun control movement is almost entirely a leftwing/Democrat movement. that means its mainly about politics not stopping crime

4) the gun control movement constantly spews blatant lies.

Ya'mean like this!? -

This Is How The Gun Industry Funds The NRA - Business Insider

How The Gun Industry Funnels Tens Of Millions Of Dollars To The NRA

While that is still part of the organization's core function, today less than half of the NRA's revenues come from program fees and membership dues.
The bulk of the group's money now comes in the form of contributions, grants, royalty income, and advertising, much of it originating from gun industry sources.

Each time we have one of these mass murders, the shooters get enormous publicity. But the makers of weapons -- without which these killings would be a deranged individual’s fantasy -- seem to benefit. To be fair, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has been scaring gun owners about the imminent threat to their arsenals ever since President Obama took office. The NRA’s tactics have contributed to industry growth.

And that growth has been impressive. After all, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation between 2008 and 2011, jobs in companies that make, distribute, and sell firearms and ammunition have grown 30% -- adding 23,000 direct jobs. The NSSF estimates that the industry’s “direct economic impact” doubled to $13.6 billion in that time.

By any measure, the gun industry is outpacing the US economy that has been inching along at a 2% annual rate.

And America can give some of the credit for that to the NRA. Bloomberg reported that the NRA ended 2011 as “a lobbying, merchandising and marketing machine that brings in more than $200 million a year [that] intends to help unseat the incumbent president.”

The OP is another gun industry shill lie that bastardizes our second amendment rights.

how? if anti gun scum in office and the media didn't scream for gun bans every time some criminal kills kids in a gun free one, how would the NRA be helped?

the second amendment is a negative restriction on the government. how are the rights we have and which the government has no power to infringe upon hurt by gun makers selling their wares?

When someone says "entirely" he better have more to back it up than his good name.

have you figured out why your anti NRA and anti gun nonsense is generally dismissed?

You act like somehow people don't know the NRA is supported by the gun industry? You act like just because the NRA says it or someone from the gun industry it must be a lie. That kind of nonsense belongs in the conspiracy theory forum.

It's not the NRA or there supporters lying about gun crime or it's root cause. It's not the gun lobby promoting scare tactics and misleading information using bogus stats etc.

If you are going to blow smoke up someones ass. Probably best not to do it in a part of the forum where we know our rights and are well versed in the truth vs hyperbole from gun control supporters. We know terms like "assault rifle" and "gun safty" are nothing but political catch phrases meant to demonize.

So your links are absolutely correct. To bad they don't support your claim that just because the OP is a supporter of the NRA and the gun lobby makes it a lie.

So again post some evidence it is a lie or incorrect. Otherwise again, don't try and blow smoke up my ass.

You demanded proof and I gave you proof. There is not one thing about the gun issues I've posted on that I have not proven.

As always, proof isn't enough for gun thugs.

No you did not. You gave me proof of the NRA being supported by the gun lobby... Surprise! I wanted proof of your claim that...

You have posted nothing at all that shows this.

What the hell is a "gun thug?"

I gave you absolute proof that NRA shill for the gun industry and perpetuates the lie that the second amendment is under attack.

I've given absolute proof that the second amendment is not an unlimited right.

I given absolute proof that this country has a long history of gun control laws that dates back to the colonial period when the second amendment was much fresher in the minds of citizens.

I've given absolute proof that American terrorists can buy their weapons or otherwise get them fee and clear in this country.

I've shown time and time again that the gun good version of the second amendment and the reality have never matched.

All you've show is denial of facts with nothing to back it up.
