Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds[W:1693]

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

I do believe that the medical profession taking on the second amendment is the first time in history that an inanimate object has been declared a disease.

Cigarettes, asbestos, trans fats.....etc

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

That video has got to be the dumbest anti gun speech on record.

Oh there are others who challenge

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

Indeed

What would they know about the consequences of guns ?

Doctors ...pah ! :lamo

they can talk all they want about TREATING gun shot wounds. that is something they know about. about gun control laws-they know about as much as anti gun posters. which means almost nothing

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

That one does come close.

And there are others.

almost every gun banning politician has said stuff that stupid. as I have correctly noted, no political movement in the USA is more based on lies and dishonesty than the gun ban movement

That is hilarious. No research allowed by the best tesearchers. Lol

In my view, the two stupidest are:

Outright ban by those who claim they are in no way no how advocating banning guns, of post 1968 manufactured full autos, when not a single crime had bee committed with legal full autos in over 80 years.

Going through a gun catalog and comprising a list by model number of guns based solely on skeery looking.

Although, I gotta tell you, ghost guns firing .30 caliber clips at 60 rounds per second and non refillable "clip" magazines certainly would make the cutoff.

I'm extremely knowledgeable in various fields. Appraising and bonsai for two. But I don't consider that expertise to make me a surgeon.

The Hughes amendment sums up the anti gun movement well

1) there was no evidence supplied to support it-since there were no cases of private citizens ever using a legally possessed machine gun to murder anyone in the 50 years before that stupid law was passed

2) it clearly violated the existing supreme court precedent

3) it was not even properly passed

4) it was passed out of spite. NJ Democrap Bill Hughes was mad that the Firearms Owner Protection act was going to wipe away New Jersey's ability to arrest someone driving through their cesspool of state with a gun that was legally owned in the traveler's home state. so he tried to derail the bill and conspired with Charles Rangel to allow a last minute middle of the night vote on a poison pill

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

Have you ever seen LaPierre speak?

LaPierre is ok at best but is no where near a moron. Most bannerrhoid politicians are morons when it comes to guns

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

Stoopid Lib'ruls don't understand the difference between a Flesh Ripper Mk 2 and a Child Killer 7000!!!!!1 That makes their opinions about gun control totally invalid!!!!1.

what a silly comment. do you have a clue what you are talking about? or are you just here to prove our point that the more anti gun a lefty is, the less likely they know about guns?

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

But somehow being a doctor makes you an expert on gun law.

You do understand it is reearchers doing the research

Shocking but my opinion differs

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

Under what rule of law would such a law be Constitutional? How would it stop someone from buying a gun for their criminal boyfriend?

Hiding behind your grossly misinterpreted constitution is a typical dodge sadly

Which primary reason would that be? Hunting? Sporting use? Both of those uses outnumber the need for self defense many times each year.

Being able to indulge your hobbies sure is costly for the rest of your society not that you guys care a jot :(

You don't understand lawful gun ownership at all.

Only when there are actual laws which work

I doubt any of my doctors have ever seen, much less treated, a gunshot victim. Now they'd understand the consequences of motor vehicles, poor diet, drinking, smoking, all of which affect many more lives and account for many more deaths each year than guns.

Given gun deaths now exceed your auto fatalities I doubt that is true with the majority of doctors in the US

Re: Guns kill 1,300 US children every year, study finds

Then change the law so that it does. Banning second hand gun sales would do for starters
Oh they are trying here in OR. with their silly little ineffective SB941 for personal background checks. Not working out so good nor will the SB719.

As long as firearms zealots are as they are nothing can ever work :(

Its a mass psychological sickness of your society that is unique in the developed world

If that's your only point, then you fail. It fully supports the individual right to keep and bear arms. Here are the state constitutions that do the same:

State Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Provisions, by Date

And regardless of how you feel, it's still a threshold that must be met.

It's more than a mere hobby.

Only when there are actual laws which work

Again, feel free to suggest laws that are Constitutional, effective, enforceable and would be enforced.

Given gun deaths now exceed your auto fatalities I doubt that is true with the majority of doctors in the US

Actually, they don't. Most gun deaths are suicides, and suicides are not illegal nor dependent upon guns. Deaths to due medical error exceed both combined.

Its still just a dodge used to cover a multitude of sins sadly

It's more than a mere hobby.

Why ?

Again, feel free to suggest laws that are Constitutional, effective, enforceable and would be enforced.

You guys want less laws not more. I guess the current level of killing is just not enough for you

Actually, they don't. Most gun deaths are suicides, and suicides are not illegal nor dependent upon guns. Deaths to due medical error exceed both combined.

Guns make both suicide and murder much easier to commit successfully as your society has demonstrated

If you hadn't lost those two wars your opinion might actually matter here.

The US has a very different cultural history with gun ownership and use. It's been reserved for your toffs for yonks, but it's more of a workingman's tool here. Our settlers had to conquer and defend our lands as citizens; the Empire did their conquering with armies.

You guys want less laws not more. I guess the current level of killing is just not enough for you

We want Constitutional, effective, enforceable laws that would actually be enforced.

Guns make both suicide and murder much easier to commit successfully as your society has demonstrated
True, but Japan and South Korea seem to handle suicide well enough without guns, and guns are the best tool with which to defend yourself and your family.
