2017: One Mass Shooting Per Month, Min

among many things promised, Trump did promise to stop the violence, if elected to the office of POTUS

he obviously has an invisible magic wand he was gonna wave around & some how magically STOP crime on a dime

LOL, he is so full of himself & of course it does take an asinine electorate to believe such horse **** to get such a candidate elected

the average American voter is really quite stupid IMO ............

It seems the shootings have died down quite a bit since Trump took office.

we get it- you like to bait gun owners but you don't have any valid solutions but then again finding a solution to this problem that you pretend upsets you, has never been your goal.

So, you won't even take that first step, admit that America has a problem with gun violence?

A good first step would be for you to admit that yes, America has a gun problem.
And by that standard calamity I could say a first good step on your part is admitting no America doesn't have a gun problem.

Have you forgotten about the Wild, Wild, West? Guns don't kill, people do...until the attitudes of people change, yes the violence will continue...

There were a lot less guns in the wild west. People were poor and couldn't afford them. My grandfather had a single shot bolt action 22 for hunting small game for food. He borrowed a shotgun to hunt deer. I had more guns than both my grandparents when I was 14.

nope, we have a criminal problem. You apparently have a problem with freedom

Incorrect. We have a problem with people committing criminal acts with guns. Lots of guns, lots of criminals. Gee what could go wrong?

There really wasn't all that much gun violence in the wild west. Sure there was some in some of the mining towns, but punishment was harsh and swift. I seriously doubt the US had a homicide rate of 5 or 6 per 100K back then.

But they loved their guns and most everyone carried...and there was a lot of territory to hide in...they had to be caught first...

No. Not "everyone carried." That's just TV.

mainly criminals-what's your solution-I have never seen anything that even comes close to being a rational solution to a rather minor problem given there are 400 million guns in the USA and 99% of them are never used for anything illegal

Oh, now, that's helpful.

no less helpful than whining there is a "gun problem" when there really isn't if you get rid of people who cannot own guns and suicides, our rate of gun deaths is very very low

Lets face it, we can't convince each other that the gun did or didn't do it. What is fact is that someone screwed the pooch on this. A guy this unstable shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near anything, not kids, not pets, not guns or even a car. Who knows, he could have mowed a pick up truck into a crowd.
We once again failed to heed the warning signs. How many other guys could have been stopped had the ones around them alerted the authorities? So why are we making some piece of steel the scapegoat when it was human beings who fell short? How many of us would bother reporting someone who sets off some alarm bells, however subtle? Yes, he picked up a gun, or guns, but lets face it, a determined person will find a way. This guy became unhinged some time ago, and he had plenty of time to plan whatever was going though his sick mind.

What I worry about is how many of the nearly unhinged are still out there and it's just a matter of time?

12,000 gun homicides and another 20,000 or so suicides by gun..."nothing to see here, move along."

Well thank you.Just doing what I can to help.:2razz:

Do you have any constructive comment on the "at least one mass shooting per month" topic? I notice that none of the nearly 50 replies I have recieved in this thread has shown a single hint that anyone is interested in actually discussing that. How about you be the first?

that isn't the issue. the issue is what can be done that would reduce those numbers without violating the constitution. The problem I see from posters like you is that you constantly throw out gun deaths in an effort to smear gun ownership without ever coming up with any solutions other than to harass gun owners

Exactly...to think that guns are the root of the problem is turning a blind eye to the real problem...

You gotta start somewhere. And, the bare minimum required to get started is admitting that the US has a problem with gun violence.

It's like confronting a drunk in the family. First, everyone has to admit Joey has a problem. No chance moving forward without that first step.

this board has a problem with dishonest posters who pretend that the problem is "gun violence" when what really bothers them is the voting patterns of gun owners. We have a problem with violent criminals. Guns don't cause problems. People misusing them do. you want to harass lawful gun owners because you don't like their voting patterns

CT forum is that way ------>

This thread is about discussing "at least one mass shooting per month," which clearly indicates that we have a problem with gun violence in this country. If you can't discuss that, I suggest you start a thread in CT and rant away on your theories about voting patterns and what-not.

why is it a problem? given the number of guns legally owned, I'd say its not much of a problem

I'd say if you don't have any valid solutions, your reasons for constantly posting stuff like this suggests your motivations are not based on a desire to solve the problem that you talk about constantly but rather to bash gun owners.
