What if getting rid of the 2nd did reduce gun crime

Yep. And get rid marijuana, alcohol, candy, cake, ice cream, soda, etc.

Get rid of motor cycles, sports cars, and merry go rounds. And monkey bars.
But let us not forget about five gallon buckets, swimming pools (pretty much any size)and all chemicals under the sink or in the garage. Probably ought to get rid of the family dog to in case it gets rabies.
Why hell we would be living in the land of fluffy kittens and unicorn farts.Such bliss.

Again how is a law going to dissuade a person choice to commit murder?
The $64.00 question! If you ever do find out you'll be $64.00 richer, lol.
Any bets if an anti gunner can answer that one? Or if it will be dodged?

ask anyone who deals with criminals and they will tell you that if say a capital murder charge or life in prison won't deter someone, then a lesser sentence for a preliminary and related crime less serious than murder, will be worthless in deterrence as well.

Society will never be able to legislate away homicidal intentions!

You are correct. Unless, we remove all items that can harm another. Including fists.

I find it disappointing and somewhat curious also that those who defend "gun rights" most often do so by reverting to the Second Amendment of self defense, neither of which are the true basis for gun ownership or ownership of anything else. It is my opinion that gun ownership is rooted in the fundamental principle of self determination the most important principle that founded this nation and should be the core principle of all societies. No person or government should ever dictate what another person should own or not.
As for human lives, yes they are important, but reality is that far more lives can be saved at far lesser expense, both financially and freedom wise, than restricting guns and the best reduction of crime is accomplished by reducing or removing the reasons for it in the first place.

I don't debate whether or not the 2nd ammendment kills more people than it protects.
Becuase I support it anyway.

Even if liberals are right and banning guns will reduce gun crime, I don't care.

i would rather live in a place with more violence + the ability to defend oneself, rather than less violence - the ability to defend yourself.

Because if there is a violent situation in a peaceful area with no guns, people are ****ed. If you're an old lady and someone robs your home, you have no defense if someone is gonna rape or kill you, and they can do it with their bare hands.

So even if the liberals are right, and getting rid of the second ammendment would reduce gun violence, I still would not side with them.

In fact a magic wizard could ressurect the kids from Sandy Hook in exchange for banning all assualt weapons, I still would not oppose an assault weapon ban. If I could go back in time, ban assault weapons, and prevent Sandy Hook. I wouldn't

Getting rid of the 2nd amendment might lower gun crime. But crime involving other weapons and other means would jump up.
