Semi-auto means the same as Semi / Auto

From my experience it looks like a selector switch but I don't have a lot of experience with automatic weapons either...

Its not totally evil, it had a green stock, pistol grip, and rail covers on it! However that may just be to blend into urban foliage to assault innocent people. It was in possession of a silencer which makes murder, and assault very quiet.

"suppressor" silencer is not an accurate term.

In the spirit of accurate information American inventor Hiram Percy Maxim, the son of Maxim gun inventor Hiram Stevens Maxim invented, and selling the first commercially successful models marketed them as "Maxim Silencers" and, patented them as such March 30, 1909. Granted the are not silent, and merely suppress the sound of the firearm.

Here's the deal:There are some (I use the term "some"very loosely)that may not be to ridiculous. Now a lot of these crusaders dwell on magazine capacity and barrel shrouds that somehow flip up on your shoulder and one time use mags. and somehow the color black make them something ominous and evil and able to fire in excess of over 3000 rounds per minute. I speak of anti gun lawmakers passing the word to people that don't know any different. So how ridiculous are our counter arguments? How does a person that don't know straight up about firearms even have an argument? Easy. They repeat what they have heard on the news and what the anti gun groups feed to them rather than actully doing any leg work.Well actually finger work if you will.

The people trying to push for more anti-2nd amendment laws care. They are trying to falsely equivocate civilian firearms with firearms are military currently uses in order to make it easier to ban them. So as a result 2nd amendment advocates have to care.

One of the things you and your co-worker have to understand is that theses people are not doing this out of ignorance. They are purposely trying to equivocate civilian firearms with firearms our military currently uses in order to make it easier to ban them.

My co-worker is completely oblivious by his own admission , I do believe that his claim is based solely on ignorance. I recently asked him to define what he though a machine gun is, he replied they are weapons that "rapidly" spray bullets. I told him that the national firearms act of 1934 defines a machine gun as a firearm that fires automatically by a single function of the trigger. He seem genuinely surprised / intrigued when I told him the legal definition of a machine gun has nothing to do with how fast it empties a magazine. He has expressed interest in learning about firearms!
