Another Day, Another School Shooting

Your translation: Must. Misrepresent. Real. Cause.

No. The correlation between easy access to guns and death by shooting is pretty solid.

The argument that more guns leads to a safer society is bull****. That's the point of the thread.
Care to point out where that point was made?

These days, it seems like everyone has a gun. Get pissed at the wife, shoot the bitch. Get pissed at your boss, shoot the ****er. Get pissed at the guy who cut you off on the highway, shoot the bastard.

I notice a trend.

Then you are watching the news too much. 45 million owners minimum. How many millions of shootings each year are there? Hundred thousands?

The fact is that...without reading into this...I can already tell you the shooter probably had a history of violence. People don't snap. Warning signs. Probably didn't seek treatment. Doesn't matter though does it?

Let's just ban guns. That will solve our mental health problem. Nevermind that gasoline or propane doesn't need a background check, knives are cheap, and assholes are running through crowded streets in their vans.

Ah, so in NRA world, we can't even mention it when another kid dies because some asshole had too easy access to a gun. Is that how you want it?

We have no idea if "easy access" was the issue here. You've jumped to a conclusion with no data at all to pursue your agenda.

Where did I say anything about banning guns? A guy can bitch about there being too many damned guns without saying we should ban them, ya know

No where, you never have solutions just mockery of a liberty that saves more lives than deaths you can blame on it.

No. Just another day, and another dead child shot by some asshole with a gun. There is no reason to read more into it than what it says or what happened...again.

Disgusting that you celebrate this.

No. The correlation between easy access to guns and death by shooting is pretty solid.

Just as solid as the easy access to knives, hand tools, opposable thumbs and rental trucks is. Face it, the laws could be changed so that a criminal would need Indiana Jones' levels of legerdemain to acquire a gun illegally, and as soon as someone did and used it you'd be here complaining about "easy access" to guns.

Having a gun sure does make it easier to kill someone and shoot an innocent bystander for good measure.

Of course it does. So you're solution is eliminate all weapons?

How would you have made it more difficult for this man to get a gun? Explain in detail.

Since we don't know the details, he cannot.

That is so clearly NOT the point of this thread . . .

1) No evidence of that. You need evidence.

BECAUSE...

2) Correlation does not equal causation.

A couple days after the shooting in a Florida gym, where a disgruntled employee decided to take his pea shooter out for a walk and blow away his old bosses, an angry husband barged into a school to shoot his old lady, before killing himself---taking out an innocent 8-year old boy in the process.

San Bernardino school shooting: Student among 3 dead - CNN.com

Good stuff. Give everyone a gun so that some minor squabble between two spouses results in the death of innocents. Just ****ing great.

Another day, another rush by gun control nuts to use the bodies of the dead to push their political agenda...

Let's see. I personally knew 6 murder victims. Only one was not shot; he was stabbed. I knew 5 suicide victims, only one was not shot, he hung himself.

So, go sell that crap to someone who is buying.

Disgusting is those who celebrate guns while ignoring the carnage.

How would you have made it more difficult for this man to get a gun? Explain in detail.

It could have begun by not making 300 million guns available for nuts to grab and use whenever they flip their ****.

Please show where I suggest enacting gun control measures.

I never claimed causation. You did.

I notice a trend.

Does everyone have a gun? I doubt it, though I guess I don't have ownership trends in front of me presently.

The murderer wasn't allowed to own a gun anyway, so obviously it came through illegal means. Banning guns will do what exactly? If, and it's a big If, you could get them out of the hands of the public, and If, and this is a bigger If, you could control the influx of illegal weapons, you can eliminate a good hunk of gun violence/suicide. But I don't know how long it would take, and some of that will be impossible. So it will never drop to zero.

I think the more disturbing trend is how quick we are to turn to violence. America and guns are like peanut butter and jelly, and for a long long time have we a celebrated history of open gun rights. But how quickly people are turning to the gun or other weapons to settle arguments, is far more disturbing. It may be easier to see guns because they'll get the headlines, but things like school shootings didn't used to be quite as common. And it's not the gun because the gun had always been there. It's us. We're turning to violence first as a solution, and that's the trend you should be noticing.

Violent crime is currently at historical lows.

Please show where this isn't anything short of a gungrabbers tear jerk **** show?

So, you can't even face the carnage without resorting to Turtlesque "gungrabber" insults. What's next? Maybe you can call me a "banneroid" for simply pointing out that another child is dead due to guns being easier to find than gas stations.
