The Democrat Party vs The 2nd Amendment

Banning people for religion is a violation of the 1st just as much as banning guns violates the 2nd. I know, though, that most of you only care about the latter.

I would suggest that it isn't, as citizens of other countries in other countries don't has Constitutionally protected rights.

Nobody is banned due to religion......they're banned because they are from the nations currently considered most dangerously terrorist.

There are no Constitutional Rights involved.

Who said this..."no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" ?

There's one. "shall not be infringed".

Is there a reason why citizens with the proper well earned right and proper well earned paperwork, should not carry on the streets?

You might have been able to sell that if the Trumpet hadn't called it a Muslim Ban.

Considering that I'm liberal and not against guns, and pretty much every house around me contains at least one gun and one liberal, I can hardly do otherwise.
"The Left", as you conservatives use the term, covers so many people and so many social and political ideologies that you can't say 'the left...' anything. That's what happens when you misuse and overuse a word- it loses it's meaning.

Let's just say the Democratic Party is against guns.

And it (along with open immigration) will be their downfall.

We want our guns and we want our borders closed.

Trump never once called it a Muslim ban......that's gossip and hearsay from unreliable sources.

And that gossip will not mean a thing when this hits the full (Gorsuch) Supreme Court.

Not that I know. What's your opinion?

Reagan was not a gun banner WHEN IN OFFICE

Democrats try to mitigate the amount of damage their party has done to our rights by going on and on about RWR after he was out of office and out of mind

Several sources over the years have stated that Reagan carried concealed for years after his brief encounter with Hinkley, who definitely believed in concealed carry.

This in spite of the fact that at the time of the encounter Reagan was surrounded by dozens of carriers.

Not that I know. What's your opinion?

My opinion has been well stated here and elsewhere. I have a CC permit. I carry. I carry open and concealed, as the situation requires. Been doing so for years.

Well, Obama didn't extend Clinton's assault weapon ban, in fact he left the whole issue alone, so it might be a molehill, not a mountain.

He sure was when he was governor.

He desperately WANTED to ban guns.......it was the Republican House that wouldn't allow it......and we all know that.

Yet nearly every Democratic Congress critter co-sponsored the 2015 AWB Bill.

Air waybill?
Average White Band?

Couldn't find what the awb bill is.

Yeah.....governor of Commiefornia.......you don't survive there if you favor guns.

California was pretty conservative not long ago. Still is, in much of it. But Reagan was against people carrying guns on the street, personally against it, long before the assassination attempt.

Yikes! The DemokRats

Maybe it just looks like the Democrats are anti-gun because they are not the bought and sold puppets of the NRA as are the GOP.

Rofl...that's chump change. It's the voters that wouldn't stand for an anti-gun Republican. What a joke of a point.

This thread is utter crap and deserves no more than a lazy dismissal.

And, yet, you provide even less. And that's what we call hypocrisy, kids.

Assault Weapons Ban

Ah. That was during Clinton, wasn't it? Did Obama extend it? I hadn't heard.
Personally, I wouldn't give a hoot about it. They may look sexy but I wouldn't trade my cheapo lever-action Marlin for one of those fashion statements.

Nah, in my lifetime (and no, I'm not that old). Reagan was a Goldwater Conservative when he was elected. There was a lot of money in California, and wealthy people are conservative, usually. There still is money and where there is it's still conservative but the state-wide majority is somewhere to the left.
Reagan and Goldwater and other western conservatives are what made the Republican Party so right-wing. There were liberal Republicans before them.
Things weren't as black-and-white, not as us-vs.-them back then.

California was NOT a conservative state in the '60s.

Thanks much turtle; I did have my doubts about the claim but didn't consider researching it to be worthwhile.

Reagan after all was governor of California so I just figured concessions were necessary to humor the natives.
