If you were to start to repeal gun control laws, what would you want to take away? Anything goes. You get the final say.

All except the part that doesn't infringe.

I personally would look very hard at the 1986 ban automatics (as safety mechanism are much better now than then).

I would want to get rid of the SBR requirements potentially (or restructure the language). That would apply for shotguns I think too.

Repeal both the GCA and NFA and then eliminate the ATF.

I'd leave Brady Bill background checks and if a law abiding citizen can pass that there's no reason he shouldn't be entitled to posses any manner of firearms.

I'd also repeal Gun Free School Zone law.

Fully automatic weapons do not belong in the hands of the general public.

I love my 2nd amendment as you all know, but there has to be some common sense applied here.

Automatic weapons are available to anyone (well in most states) who has a clean record and wants to bother getting a Class III and complying with the requirements.

If it were up to me I'd probably repeal almost all Fed and most State gun control laws.

It's not like they are any fracking use as far as fighting crime anyway.

And they are all Constitutionally questionable.

That and the price tag!

Illegal conversions aren't... yet we still don't have much problem with auto weapons being used in crime.

My theory is that the more common they become, the more likely the thugs will get ahold of them.

I don't expect the hard core guys to fall inline with me on this, but it's just my thoughts.

Bannerhoid!

I'm in favour of Americans owning automatic weapons. I live far enough from the border that the noise won't keep me awake and there's no risk from strays.
Lemme know if it's gonna happen, I'll invest in companies that manufacture ammunition.
Unless someone finds a way to use illegal Mexican labour in sweatshops to reload...

Prohibition on fully automatic weapons and the ban on anything after 1986.
Do away with background checks
National concealed carry license.
Do away with magazine restrictions.
Do away with ammunition restrictions/background checks

18 years old and not a convicted felon, or committed to an mental health institution to purchase a firearm
16 years old to buy ammunition.

I would amend the Brady Bill background check law. Limit it to felons convicted for violent crimes for a set period of years, and persons adjudged mentally incompetent. Then eliminate the ability to ever add new restrictions to this legislation.

There really should be no other reasons to fail a background check IMO.

Clean house at the BATF and restructure them.

I like those ideas.

Yep, just let those who are responsible, have them for their shooting pleasure. ;)

Or where a person lives so far away from neighbors and LE, they can shoot what they want, when they want, anytime 24/7/365. This occurs a lot more than many think.

Starting with putting pressure on Calif., Mass., Connecticut, Chicago and NYC.

They'd have to eat lead ......first....

Very expensive.

and even more expensive to feed them.

I loved Rock N Roll on my MaDuece as long as Uncle Sam was paying for the ammo.

at about $3-$5 a round, I do not think this is something I would enjoy.

Agreed, not unless you can reload your own.

I do not think they make a reloading press big enough for a .50 BMG.

Currently I reload 9 calibers

7.62x54R
.308/7.62NATO
.233/5.56NATO
45/70
38/357
44 SPL/44MAG
30-40 KRAG
45ACP
40S&W/10mm

and nothing I have will accommodate a die big enough for the .50 BMG.

I know a commercial reloader who has a press and use to sell them for $3 each. Those days are gone, now he sells them for $5 each.

Too spendy for me anyway.

I do all the ones you do except the 54R, the Krag and 45/70. Walmart has TulAmmo in 54R for $11.95 a box of 20 and I don't shoot very many of those. I still have some Russian surplus I bought about 6 years ago for $5 a box.

I have always said the 54R is the new 30/06.

my rifle loves the 180 grain stuff, but I may have to face the fact I will not be able to shoot centerfire again.

Time for a sell off.

All of them! 4 year olds should be able to own Uzi's if they want. It's up to their parents to see that they use them responsibly.

Both Hornady and RCBS make a kit to allow reloading. 50 BMG.
