Will Gun Prices Fall Now, With Trump as POTUS?

I doubt new colt prices will fluctuate much..

People just won't be paying $3k for used ones because there will be plenty on the shelves for all..

Used AR prices may go a touch lower though.. I bet a hi cap magazines will be plentiful used and cheap also at 80-90% price instead of 500% price..

Who's doing that now? There are tactical rifles on every shelf in every gun store I've been in. They're everywhere.

Exactly..

We won't be seeing a repeat of post sandy hook gun grabbing insanity.. Like we likely would have if Clinton was elected..

So prices should fall. I should see that Colt somewhere around $500 before Trump starts thinking about running for re-election.

No one in SW was jacking prices up-indeed the biggest dealer in SW Ohio had sales going on the last couple of weeks. I bought a 1450 dollar SIG for a good friend's 60th birthday and I got it for 975

Maybe used ones.. But even our military pays like 700$ each for them.. It doesn't get cheaper to make high quality machines depending on the president..

You just won't see insane gun prices from demand spikes.. Maybe cheap high cap mags used because of the hoarders can now relax and offload a bit..

As demand for products fall, the prices for those products either falls, or inventories go up and orders for new products stop completely.

Since "we've" prevented all-out armageddon and end of the world zombie-apocalypse by electing Trump, the full-on rush to stockpile weapons and ammunition should subside.

The abject "FEAR" of complete bans, confiscation, revolution, and anarchy will subside. Sales should diminish.

Hopefully, prices fall.

I doubt the Colt will fall much. Thats a pretty fair price point. You will likely see the S&W and Bushmasters drop slightly to somewhere steady in the 5-6 hundred range. Same with the DPMS. Ruger ARs will probably stay in the 6-750 range.

That depends on whether the courts allow states to enact/enforce laws that restrict those "special" guns.

True, some forget that fact.

It will not be happening in our State, Thank God.

There is a lot more to worry about than Zombies.

I think with the Colt, about 30% is brand name only, not cost of good sold, and the brand still has value.
That said, some alternative lesser known brands of AR's could go down in price.

Hey good friend! My birthday's in January! And I'm turning 60!

WTF??? You do realize that even the open carry of any handgun without first getting a $240 CHL is a felony in Texas. Sure you can keep a handgun in Texas but what good is having a tool that you can't take to the job site? ;)

Put it in your trunk, you just cannot carry the handgun. Problem solved. I had no problem paying for both my and my wife's licenses, save your money and again problem solved. Now if you are say people should not have to pay to carry that would be another discussion.

What good is a "right" which is treated exactly like a state issued privilege? Telling me that I can pay the state for permission to drive (license, insurance and registration) and thus keep a handgun (locked and inaccessible?) in my vehicle or I can pay the state even more (CHL) to have permission to actually have open carry access to that handgun is not a right - that is a state issued privilege pure and simple.

On that I agree, but until that is changed one either goes with their fees for your rights, goes about it as I suggested (trunk), break the law ad take your chances, or don't carry.

Smith & Wesson stock went down after Trump's victory most likely because the run on guns is now dead much like Hillary's bid for the presidency.

What's next? Have to buy a state license to exercise our right to free speech?

Either it's a right or it is not. Rights should not be bought and sold.

Constitutional rights rental agreements at the state level have, so far, not been adjudged to be 2A "infringements". Why that is so, IMHO, has much to do with the CHL prerequisite requirement for a $100 NRA training course. An organization based on membership fees and lobbying is unlikely to bite the hand that feeds it. ;)

How much can I expect to pay for this by December of 2017?

Colt® LE6920 Semiautomatic Tactical Rifle : Cabela's

Will it be less than $1000?

Or more?

If it were me I would wait, which I am. If Trump eliminates Obama's executive order (quoted below) banning imported military weapons the price will drop some.

Keeping Surplus Military Weapons Off Our Streets

When the United States provides military firearms to its allies, either as direct commercial sales or through the foreign military sales or military assistance programs, those firearms may not be imported back into the United States without U.S. government approval. Since 2005, the U.S. Government has authorized requests to reimport more than 250,000 of these firearms.
Today, the Administration is announcing a new policy of denying requests to bring military-grade firearms back into the United States to private entities, with only a few exceptions such as for museums. This new policy will help keep military-grade firearms off our streets.

The private citizenry has been sold hundreds of thousands of Garands and Carbines by the DCM and its successor corporation the OCM. Guess how many have been used in crime

yeah, almost none. all the gun banners who said Obama wasn't a gun banner apparently were ignorant of that

I could use an M1 carbine.

Would rather have an M14, that is why I own a M1A, an M14 without the rock and roll which is fine by me, maybe an M60 would be a better choice.
