I'm not a hunter and I generally think shooting birds is...well mean. Blue state mentality, tell me about it. But pest goose control !? My old college had a resident canadian goose problem and the admin was unwilling to do anything about them ****ting up the campus. Goose control ? booyeah !:2razz:

This guy is using quite an advanced air rifle, a far cry from that old Crossman pump .22 I had as a kid.

My son is really into PCP airguns-even has a sophisticated air compressor to fill the tanks and has a FX top of the line repeater on order. We leave the geese alone but he's hell on the starlings eating our corn

There are air rifles that make that air rifle in the video look like a crossman pump .222
Quackenbush Air Guns

Airguns are not something new.

Air rifles are quite advanced in some countries, because firearms in those countries are not legal for pest control, and wars have even been fought with airguns, around the time of flintlock muskets, there were repeating air rifles with about the same range accuracy and power, but with faster reload. They lost favor because percussion systems and even flintlock were cheaper and simpler.

Some of the most advanced air rifles I have seen have come from china. I knew a guy who came from china who had alot of them, and he said they were so good because firearms were banned, but some people could get air rifles there with a permit for pest control. I can not confirm if that is true or if he was just lying, but those air rifles were pretty darn powerfull and accurate for something made and designed in china.

.458 cal is pretty extreme for an air rifle, I am sure local politicians must hate them since in alot of localities they can bypass firearm laws by not technichally being a firearm.

In modern air rifles, the biggest I had seen was a 9mm rifle, which fired 9mm hollow point pellets at 1200 fps, the pellets were much lighter than 9mm bullets, but that energy for an air rifle beat out 22lr. Seeing they make big game ones, omfg.
