South Dakota legalizes carry in schools...

When did teachers become trained security officers?

When were you taught that spouting non-sequiturs was a smart way to argue?

All this does is invite the possibility of accidents.

No, it does considerably more than that, but if your personal experience is in not being able to tell your ass from a hole in the ground, it makes sense that you think it is with everyone else, too. It doesn't make you right, but it's understandable, and I'll leave you to it.

I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future...

Anybody who thinks having guns around kids is a good idea is being foolish.

One does so love Hasty Generalizations. But hey, if you feel it must be true, then it must be true.

What are you talking about, "hasty generalizations?" We are talking about the general public... generalizations are appropriate. Situations like you see in the video can and will happen when you allow guns in the classroom.

Fallacy: Hasty Generalization

Never mind the million reasons why that particular example is a piss-poor one.

The safety of a teacher is of secondary importance to the safety of the kids in their class.

I can only hope that you are being sarcastic, as this cannot really be your opinion.

The teachers carry concealed to protect themselves and also their students.

This is called self defense.

This is also called the first line of defense.

This is also called common sense.

This allows a strong response to a shooter, since there are no cops lurking in every school building ion their state.

The responsibility of individual strength, and taking responsibility for one's own self defense was a premise of the founding of our nation.

If you do not think the same, just stay out of the way and let the rest of us take care of ourselves.

How many mass shootings have been stopped by a teacher with a gun?

I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future...

Anybody who thinks that this idiot DEA LEO represents the other 320,000,000 people in the US is foolish.

How many mass shootings have been stopped by a teacher with a gun?
Actually, a few. Pearl Mississippi comes immediately to mind, except a few more children possibly died in the time it took the employee to get to his car where the weapon was stored, the minimum legal distance.

But hey, since you want to attempt to be a smartass.........................

This is the first step - you know that.

So you are saying you have no evidence, just the NRA's claim that more guns make us safer?

read More Guns Less crime by Lott

and then get back to us

we do know that the number of guns in circulation has gone WAY up in the last 5 years and crime has not gone up despite the crappy Obama economy

Across states, more guns = more unintentional firearm deaths

We analyzed data for 50 states over 19 years to investigate the relationship between gun prevalence and accidental gun deaths across different age groups. For every age group, where there are more guns there are more accidental deaths. The mortality rate was 7 times higher in the four states with the most guns compared to the four states with the fewest guns.

that study started with the premise that guns were bad and worked backward to prove it. Lott was anti gun when he started and concluded our side was right

and the issue is gun control laws. figure that out

Yeah, but TD, you know the routine. Never let unbiased research, or facts get in the way but rather find something that says what you want it to.

Thanks for the far right opinion on the most extensive study ever done on the subject.

that Hemenway clown is a well known whore for the disarmament movement. for example it talks about the states with the least number of guns (note what Catawba cited-a cursory summary without any citations). Well what does that mean? MOntana has far less guns than say Pa but what is the guns per capita? what are the laws? Chicago has almost no legal handguns but tons of ILLEGAL guns

what does that mean

and Catawba makes idiotic unsupported claims that a Harvard (Harvard's bias on gun issues is legendary) study was the most extensive based on what?

When you build up the courage to direct your remarks to me directly, let me know!

Just like you pissed off when I answered your question directly? Yeah, thought so...........

your posts devoid of rational thought or logic and fail to supply any relevant evidence. the studies you cite do not prove anything relevant to the issue. and you have already admitted that your main goal is a complete gun ban. Thus anything you advocate can reasonably be assumed to be a step towards a complete ban

As usual, you have noting but insults to contribute to the discussion.

So, all we have is your opinion vs a Harvard study that analyzed data from 50 states over 19 years.

and all you quoted was a cliff notes version

tell me when they analyzed states with less guns is that

1) less guns in total

2) less guns per capita

3) less guns due to gun laws

4) less legal guns vs illegal guns

and guess what, I wouldn't even care if you could prove more guns causes more problems. I don't cause problems with guns and since I am not a far wrong lefty I don't believe in group guilt

I shouldn't suffer the consequences of what other people do

Like that is a real revelation or something! :lamo

Unlike you I don't believe in stripping law abiding people of their rights in a silly and impotent desire to "control crime"

and BTW I don't think for a second that your real motivation is crime control. You have already admitted you want to ban all private gun ownership and all your rants about crime are just a dishonest facade serving as a pretext for your real motivations
