Its usually the liberals who always want to raise taxes. So here is what I propose, we do raise taxes, but only for liberals.

Hmm... isn't that much like saying that conservatives want to borrow and spend?

Another “conservative” who advocates for situational ethics and law... great.

Sounds like a good plan -- the money could be earmarked for liberal's favorite entitlement program.

We'd probably be better off just dismantling the government complex in Washington DC.

On a daily basis we hear of stupid expenditures made by the Federal Government. Even if they are doing the right thing, they do it in a way that is stupidly inefficient and wasteful.

It's high time we allowed them the means to do what they are charged with doing: Defending the borders, maintaining domestic tranquility and delivering the mail. The third function is optional...

Arguing over which political party wastes more money is like arguing over which pig has sweetest smelling crap.

It’s simply a team flag for many.

Politics is simply a sport they are meant to win, not one where what they believe is necessarily sincere and should improve the nation, they don’t understand what they think they believe beyond the bumper sticker slogan.

But then we would have to cut off all the conservative states that take so much tax money

Why should we be the only ones paying to fix all these problems that benefit you just as much as us? But given that 62% of GDP is actually produced in counties that voted for Hillary Clinton despite that only being 1/6th of all U.S. counties generally when you give tax cuts to the wealthy liberals are the primary beneficiaries.

I mean if you're a college educated liberal living in New York, San Fran, LA, Chicago, Seattle... you're almost certainly making six figures which puts you in a higher tax bracket even though cost of living makes you essentially middle class.

The majority of Millionaires and Billionaires say they should be paying more in tax. It's really only a bunch of poor dumb white people who think they're more important than they really are that are constantly bitching about taxes and in many cases they barely even pay any.

Citizens Against Government Waste Releases $3.1 Trillion in Waste-Cutting Recommendations

3.1 trillion in government waste could be collected over 5 years if we get rid of them.

there is an outstanding debt of over 400b dollars that is owed the IRS by people that have not paid.
if the government managed itself better, and was fiscally responsible for itself we wouldn't have a money issue.

Do you realize how many liberals are screaming that they are stuck having to pay their fair share now that the SALT is capped at 10k?
why do you think people are leaving liberal states as fast as they can?

they don't like liberal policies when it applies to them.

Capping the SALT deduction was not a liberal policy.

Liberals don't like their policies when it affects them.
they only want their policies to affect others they deem it should affect.

What I propose is voting out the Trump republicans who have given us....

The highest US debt in history.

The highest US deficit in history.

The highest US trade deficit in history.

The highest US wealth inequality in history.

Liberals don't like their policies when it affects them.
they only want their policies to affect others they deem it should affect.

That may be so, but does not make the limitation of the SALT deduction a liberal policy.

Well, that's why liberals raise taxes.

Actually not, they too are OK with borrow and spend. The main (political?) appeal of most liberal plans (proposals?) is that they are said to be funded (paid for?) by taxing (only?) a minority ("the rich"?) to offer increased (federal) government subsidies to the majority (including most of the "middle class"). The reason that most of these liberal policies are not proposed at the state/local government level is that the (rich?) minority would be able to "vote with their feet" and thus avoid picking up the tab.

But then we would have to cut off all the conservative states that take so much tax money
well like you said if they only tax Liberal states / people then they should stop sending Federal money back to Conservative states
as it is now the higher taxes states do not get near the percentage of the money they send to the Federal gov. back as they send in and a lot of conservative states get a lot more back then they send in
I wonder just how well these conservative states would do if they didn't get all that money,
They would have to raise their state taxes or cut all funding spent on programs that benefit the people who live there
have a nice day

Alabama would look like Calcutta in a year

This must be the Republican solution for Donald Trump's exploding deficit.

I have no doubt that running the Federal Government like a business would deliver HUGE cost cutting.

As an example, when I started out in the industry I worked in for many decades, I had my own Admin, a secretarial pool, a team of office clerks doing spread sheets and a group of front line folks delivering the actual products and services.

Fast forward to 2018 when I retired. No Admin. No secretarial pool. Team of office clerks replaced by Microsoft programs on a lap top. Efficiencies in the service staff increase by several hundred percent. Email replaced meetings and snail mail.

The speed of communication via email, text, conference calls, video meetings and cell phone eliminated the need for various levels of administration.

In the mean time, in government, the reverse progression is evident. The first Representatives had one staffer. Now there are about 9000 Congressional Staffers.

[FONT=&quot]It’s a chicken‐and‐egg issue whether this bloated congressional staff structure is a result of bigger government, or whether it contributes to bigger government. In either case, it would be a good idea to go back to the number of staff — and size of government — we had in the past.

yea and they are not paying taxes.
The Post's T.W. Farnum did some research and found that out of the total sum, just 638 workers on Capitol Hill owe the IRS $9.3 million in back taxes. As in, overdue. The IRS gets stiffed by the legislative body that controls its budget. How Washington works.

This must be the Republican solution for Donald Trump's exploding deficit.

who is in charge of the house again? the house makes the budget.
