U.S. created 500,000 fewer jobs since 2018 than previously reported, new figures show - MarketWatch

"Turns out hiring wasn’t nearly as strong in 2018 and early 2019 as the government initially reported — by about a half-million jobs.

The economy had about 501,000 fewer jobs as of March 2019 than the Bureau of Labor Statistics initially calculated in its survey of business establishments. That’s the largest revision since the waning stages of the Great Recession in 2009.

The newly revised figures indicate the economy didn’t get a huge boost last year from President Trump’s tax cuts and higher federal spending. They also signal the economy is a bit weaker than previously believed and could give the Federal Reserve even greater reason to cut interest rates in September."

It's confirmed. Trumps tax cuts did little except create a recession and put america on the path to bankruptcy.

Thread number two, that I've seen, on this topic. I'll tell you the same thing I said in the other thread:

Don't get too excited...

In accordance with usual practice, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is announcing the preliminary estimate of the upcoming annual benchmark revision to the establishment survey employment series. The final benchmark revision will be issued in February 2020 with the publication of the January 2020 Employment Situation news release.

Not only is this an "estimate", it's a "preliminary estimate".

Let me know what they say next February.

btw, the Fed cutting the prime rate would be a good thing. They never should have raised it so much during the past two years.

Nothing you've posted "confirms" the statement above.

That is simply your "interpretation" (hope? expectation? desire?) for this report to mean.

Everything trump touches dies. He couldn't keep the same job growth that Obama was showing that the Republicans have been calling weak. And now we find out that he wasn't just a bit slower in job growth than Obama, but much slower. What a loser.

Trump is getting the deficit zombies ready for resurrection.
