Trump is scheduled to announce a further 16 billion dollars, this afternoon, to tide farmers through the tariff war. This is on top of 12 billion dollars not that long ago. 28 billion would have made a hell of a wall. So where is this subsidy coming from?

He already told you: It's coming from the money being paid for the Chinese tariffs.

Well in fairness Trump might not be clear on who exactly is paying for this. So is this my cue to pull out my "SERSHERLIZM!!" and "PICK YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS!!!" placards?

to be honest, it's not the worst solution that i could think of. however, some backwards states are still stuck in Reefer Madness mode.
 
For what it's worth, I feel much better about my tax dollar going to the American farmer than the Wall Street scallywag.

I'm a city guy and not an accountant. You'll have to walk me gently through any agricultural terms or concepts.
