When you moved from the right to the left, did the right get anything in trade? Or were they just happy to see you go? If this conversation is any example, Im thinking addition by subtraction. :2wave:

What are you saying, exactly? You seem to be saying that the purpose of the tariffs is additional federal revenue. Thus, Trump lowered income taxes on the wealthy and corporations and is raising them with regressive tariffs, paid by the middle class. However, that wasn't the stated purpose of the tariffs. The stating goal was some kind of vague idea to 'punish' China for a number of failings. Is it accomplishing that goal? The tariffs are raising the price of foreign washers and driers but domestic manufacturers are raising prices to match. So, how is China being punished -- they are selling the same number of machines as they used to -- except American consumers are paying more for them. That's MAGA in a nut shell.
