Not just the GOP, and not just elected officials.
Very True.
Not just the GOP, and not just elected officials.
The tea party? Who only cared about spending when the black liberal became president. Where were they when Bush was starting a bogus war that has racked up many billions and still going? Where are they now that Trump is president?
You just pointed out the ridiculous hypocrisy of many conservatives, all while doing yet another lame deflection to "but the democrats".
And yet the deficits and debt increase no matter who is congressThat's a false equivalence. Obamacare was created by Democrats and had a dedicated funding source. The same thing for Medicare and Social Security.
The difference is that Democrats propose spending and don't mind taxing to pay for the spending. Republicans spend more and cut-taxes, resulting in increased debts.
They got hammered by idiots trying to make them look like racists. Guess who those idiots were...
BTW - The TEA Party started during the Bush admin.
It is indeed a charade which is why Paul Ryan and dozens of GOP congress-critters are fleeing the scene of the crime.
There are a LOT of us conservatives who are irate over that spending bill, most especially Congress's failure to defund those things they promised to defund in their campaigns. And we are irate that they are funding those things while denying the President funding for the wall that he promised in his campaign, a wall that likely kept a lot of Republicans in their present jobs because the American people want control over who will be allowed entry into the country.
But the left's self-righteous proclamations of the GOP being big spenders is about as hypocritical as it gets. For sure the GOP these days are not fiscal conservatives by any stretch of the imagination, but they share that less-than-commendable characteristic with the Democrats in spades. No Democratic administration or Congress has been fiscally conservative either, at least for the last 50 years.
Can we at least be intellectually honest about that?
