[h=1]Omnibus rejects big EPA cuts, hikes Energy and Interior funds[/h]
The measure includes nearly $1.6 billion for border security, including new technology and repairs to existing barriers — but not Mr. Trump’s wall, as he claimed on Twitter on Wednesday.

“In sharp contrast to the devastating cuts called for in the Trump budget, the omnibus contains robust funding to combat homelessness, create new affordable housing and promote community development,” Representative Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California and the minority leader, said in a statement. She added, “The omnibus also rejects the Trump administration’s cruel anti-immigrant agenda.”

Government funding bill includes new measures to punish Russia

I thought a "master negotiator" was elected?

They were, however, successful in their continued non-funding for ACORN.

Can we all now agree that Ryan is not up to the job?

Trump is a master negotiator and I have absolute proof: If any other republicant had said let's cut federal taxes, increase federal spending and run a $1T budget deficit then the republicant majority House and Senate would have laughed and said no ****ing way is that going to happen on our watch. Trump managed to negotiate that moronic federal policy in barely over a year.

As bad as Trump is for the country, him being elected truly is the best thing to have ever have happened for the Democrats.

I said the same thing about Bush II, then we got Obama. Seems like we are on a merry-go-round.

Trump, the alleged master negotiator, could have refused to sign the bill and sent it back to congress.
You know, art of the deal and all that jazz.

The word from the GOP base seems to be "Trump had to agree or else the military would have been gutted."

It’s a mess. The wall will be tied to DACA, later, which the dems don’t want at all because they need it for an issue in 2020.

But, interestingly Trump explained how the sausage was made and vowed to never do it again. He desperately wanted to buff up the military and was willing to make the trade.

I’m surprised he let the swamp off so easy!

We know that 45 didn't read the bill.:lamo

Trump has a long record as a liberal loving what you mention until he choose to run for the presidency as a republican. He changed a few of his lifelong held political views. Perhaps his lifelong held views are beginning to win out over those he adopted to run as a Republican? I suppose it is anybody's guess.

Trump is a traditional Democrat not a progressive and the progressive Democratic Party views Trump as a traitor to the party. That's why they hate him so much.

Sounds like CinC spoke with Nancy and Chuck again.
Mitch must have smiled when Donald whined about the filibuster.

Congress is out of town for two weeks, not a comforting thought for me.
They tossed a $1.5 Trillion Transportation bill into the dustbin of history for a $1.5 Trillion Tax Heist.
If CinC makes 4 years, which he won't, he'll hit $30 Trillion; and gops will blame you know who.

None of this even remotely begins to address the $ 200 Trillion hit we'll take next decade on public pension/etc. exposure.

Good News--India then China are set to go online next decade with Thorium-232 Reactors.
Wendelstein-X 7 then ITER are the future into the next century. (Jealous of those who will be the first to Titan)
All other energy sources are just intermediates ...

So, you made the monicker switch, eh?

Trump signed the bill. And you're always claiming he's battle-tested and a rebel. Ready to eat your words?

(I won't hold my breath).

The alt-righties are frothing at the mouth. Sucks to be them!

Pretty funny.
Some die-hard Trumpsters are insisting that the Donald signed off on this because he's got a big military move coming up.
I hope they're wrong, but with Trump......who knows?

Stormy should easily surpass any Super Bowl in ratings this coming Palm Sunday.

The news conference would have been great if the CinC had.not.spoken.
It was comforting to hear from Sec Def Mattis.
All of us fear that Kelly and Mattis are next, the last two MEN standing.
How do you think it looked to the World with the way CinC got rid of the 4th in line to be President?
I saw that reaction on i24news out of Jaffa.

Nikki Haley would have been a far superior choice to Pompeo as SoS.
Pompeo would have made a Great choice as NSA, with his brilliance at West Point.
Bolton's a catastrophe waiting to happen, with a brain.
There would be a place for Sen. Corker in my 24-person Cabinet.

Speaking of the Cabinet, it takes 13 of them to pull the 25th trigger. How convenient these changes.
With Cohn, Tillerson and now McMaster out, that's not likely.

So, we're down to the House, since I believe there are 67+ Senators to convict.
I was heartened to hear from especially Sen. Sasse this week, and a little from #3 Sen. Thune ...

He just signed up John Bolton, the hawkiest of the neocon hawks as his NSA. I have the same feeling of dread. Hard to believe this is real life.

That old Chinese curse comes to mind...."May you live in interesting times"..
Things are getting a little TOO interesting imho.

It was time, especially since I had time to think about it.
$10 is a good deal; a lifetime of name changes, but only after 90 days each time.
They even give you a cute 90-day temporary badge.

Why shouldn't Democrats be a part of making deficits great again?
CinC always sounds and looks like Mussolini to me, especially with 'his' Military.

Two more days this week with the Students.
We break on Good Friday.
I'm tossing around Northern Utah, but will probably go to Taos, New Mexico ...

Or, DT could have been part of the process. You know, like other presidents? Instead, he acts like a bystander waiting for it to get to his desk.

That was Trump's excuse and he spoke about the "huge cuts under Obama." Clearly, he reads and makes it up on the spot.

Where were these huge defense cuts?

Very possible as to the hate shown him. From donating his millions to Democrats and hobnobbing with the Democratic Party elites to becoming a Republican in 2012 and changing a lot of his lifelong held political philosophy to fit in with the GOP. I always wondered when the eight time party switcher, not if, but when some of Trump's lifelong political views would surface to replace some of those he changed to run as a Republican. Is this the start of that? I guess we'll find out as time goes by.
