Just look at these Democrats destroying their state.....oh wait.

Sorry buddy, but if the state was in decline the property values wouldn't keep going up. The property values are high because so many people want to live there. The weather definitely helps with that, but more liberal economic policies have the state headed in the right direction.

Holy ****ing hell, the amount bliss in this ignorance is... is... sad really.

It's been so funny over the years watching conservatives desperately try and claim that California is a disaster thanks to liberal policies. Turns out California did struggle for a while there, but that was under Republican Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger. Today, however, after 7 years of full democratic control California is once again flying high with an incredibly strong economy and more money than they know what to do with.

And with marijuana now legal and taxed CA will be reaping in the tax benefit. Hold on for the green rush and extra tax $ Cali. You will be reaping it in, and the red states can look on with envy !!

Can you take your hate and bile somewhere else please?

So you have nothing to refute? Not that I need, it, but thanks for confirming what I posted are indeed facts. Yeah, I know, you are a conservative. No facts, no logic, no reasoning, just deflections and stupid comments. Let's review the real hate and bile

You are currently asking him to divide by zero...
Don't forget the whole "we want a 15$ minimum wage crap" getting more traction then ever...

Or the amount of people fleeing silicon valley.. when this state crashes, its going to be the most beautiful destruction I've seen in a long time.

Self described "conservatives" have been predicting the fall of California for years now. Everyone is bailing on the Golden State, businesses are leaving in droves, etc., and yet both the GDP and the population keep increasing. Their prediction is based on a circular reasoning: California is largely under Democratic control, Democrats are anti business and bad for the economy, therefore, California must soon go under.

But, it never seems to happen.

Perhaps there just could be a flaw in that circular reasoning somewhere.

People moving out you say?

1970 19,953,134
1980 23,667,902
1990 29,760,021
2000 33,871,648
2010 37,253,956
2017 population of 39.497 million (est)

Might help you understand the problems the state is facing if you realized just who those supposedly moving in actually are.

Really? The last I read, Governor Brown was projecting a 1.6 billion dollar deficit by summer.
California's budget deficit is back, Gov. Jerry Brown says

Unemployment in California is higher than the national average, has the highest poverty rate in the nation when cost of living is combined with income levels, and the population and businesses are fleeing California in record numbers.

I know a lot of folks in California and only one couple in far east California who has their home paid for and a good pension plan to stay there. The rest want to flee the high cost of living, especially in housing, the high taxes, the creeping squalor, and concerns of unacceptable and increasing crime in the areas where they live.

You have an incredibly beautiful state, but it is not someplace I would choose to live these days.

Why would it matter who is moving in -- except for those obsessed with xenophobia?

But look where this has progressed. First, the claim was that California's population was decreasing. Then, after that belief was undercut, we've moved to claiming that the people moving in are "Those People" who aren't as good as they ought to be.

California exports its poor to Texas, other states, while wealthier people move in

About 2.5 million people living close to the official poverty line left California for other states from 2005 through 2015, while 1.7 million people at that income level moved in from other states – for a net loss of 800,000. During the same period, the state experienced a net gain of about 20,000 residents earning at least five times the poverty rate – or $100,000 for a family of three.

So you are saying California is inviting to the rich and famous who can afford to live there while it is miserable and terrible for ordinary people.
My point, which seems to be lost, is that if people who are wealthy enough to live anywhere they desire choose to live in CA, that undercuts the posts here that California is a state in decline with little to offer.

My point is that when it is mostly the rich and famous plus the homeless, illegals, and people too poor to relocate living there, probably everybody will see that CA is in decline in many important ways.

Pretty lame job at trolling

Pretty lame response in general, seeing as you didn't actually post anything that was checkable and wasn't filled with your usual bile.

Then again, that's par for the course for the likes of you.

Yet, you have no argument for why.

Then actually list these liberal policies that have California doing so well.

Because I will admit that yes, people want to live there. But that is not because of its policies.
Its because California is a dream for many people to actually come to and live in. Yet the absurdly high taxes and housing cost kills more then a majority of those dreams. Not to mention the pollution, the crime, etc.

Its far from the American dream, that it used to portray.

Hardly xenophobia, plain fact.. over 10.7 of those coming here are illegal immigrants with nothing to their name, the state has to support them one way or another.
California (10.7 million), https://www.migrationpolicy.org/art...tics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states

More undocumented immigrants live in Southern California than anywhere else in U.S.
https://www.ocregister.com/2017/02/...southern-california-than-anywhere-else-in-us/

And the homeless are coming in droves for the warmer weather to live unsheltered. Our parks are taken over by them in many areas, same for parking lots and even our local library. So bad in San Fran they provide maps of areas to avoid because of human excrement.

Cites are being forced to build low cost housing apartments, we call them pigeon coops because they are like cells, five stories high an covering entire blocks in all directions.

You fail to realize who is increasing the population and who is leaving because of the destruction to our state. If that's xenophobia so be it.. do you actually live here? or are you looking in with rose colored glasses?

Like most of our ancestors and my grandparents specifically.

After a generation, their children were doctors, lawyers and business people. Immigrants largely contribute to America.

LOL, yes, another thread that promotes California and its massive govt. spending on social programs that still has it ranked at the bottom of the quality of life and the top in having the most homelessness and poverty. How do you reconcile the gap between the rich and poor in the state with such a booming economy? That incredibly strong economy isn't getting to the poor or the homeless and continues to see business flee the state which will get even bigger when the minimum wage increase hits as small businesses will leave to more tax friendly states. High cost of living, high taxes, and greater dependence is destroying this state in spite of the economic activity. Republicans haven't controlled the state Senate since 1975

How do you reconcile such a strong economy with the fact that the state ranks at the bottom in quality of life with among the highest taxes and cost of living in the nation? All this great economic news and still the highest number in poverty and homeless in the nation. Cherry pick much data??

I wish here in louisiana we could say the same thing. Our republican controlled state ran us into obscene budget deficits and now they are blaming our new democratic governor for wanting to cut back spending and raise taxes.

Jindal... Him and his policies just about destroyed the State, just like Brownback is doing in Kansas.

List the liberal policies that account for this magical transformation.

Areas with a high quality of life with lots of green space, public land, good schools, smart development and so on, attract much more smart and talented people than areas that don't have these things. There is a reason why states like Minnesota do so well economically despite the harsh climate, and states like California, Washington, and so on attract such smart and talented people. The most liberal areas tend to be the most desirable places to live. Look at Texas, the most desirable city in the whole state is also its most liberal, Austin.

A lot of what helps California of course is its climate and geography, but the fact the state does a lot in the way of conservation helps.
