This is what I don’t understand that the democrats always clutch to something and, blame it on the Republicans. For instance, they are threatening a shutdown over the stupid thing CHIP which is the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Jimmy Kimmel who has been a advocate for the program because of his son. Ok, fine let’s back off from the program, this might be a stupid idea but, what other options do we have? Let’s take a look at the spending on welfare and, Let’s see how much we are giving out and, people who just take it and, not contribute to this society? Im not talking about the disabled program or the people who are working but seriously need some extra assistance that is fair and, as long those people can provide the reason and keep making a hard earning that is fine but, I am talking about the welfare system that capable people who can actually get up and, go to work but, they choose not too. I volunteer at habitat for humanity for three days and, I'm disabled by birth and, I receive social security but,I will never take a advantage of this because I believe that I’m unlike anyone else.

Oh no! Another paid vacation for "non-essential" federal personnel looms due to congress critter misconduct so...

What in the actual **** are you talking about?

Are you endorsing the idea of punishing sick children over politics because you don't understand how welfare works?

Sen. Graham is currently torching Stephen Miller, as this GOP Senator is still a No on McConnellism ...

I've never seen anything as cynical in politics as Republicans spending 4 months refusing to reauthorize the Children's Health Insurance Program, then attaching reauthorization to another controversial bill, then blaming Democrats for not supporting CHIP. It's breathtaking.

The idea that there are huge numbers of Americans who are capable of working but choose not too, is a right-wing myth -- just like the idea that farmers will lose their farms to an estate tax.

The [first] Trump shutdown of our government, but probably not the last for the "master negotiator".

It is a Trump/GOP shutdown ... they control the executive and legislative branches of government.

Unlike repealing Obamacare and the tax giveaway, the GOP can't ram this legislation through with only 50 votes. They are going to have to learn the meaning of compromise.

And if I was a Dem Congresscritter, I wouldn't trust the GOP leadership one iota after they reneged on promises to Sen. Susan Collins (R/ME) for her tax vote.

If Dems stare down Trump in Dreamer shutdown showdown, they will win

"I'll murder your wife and give money to the poor."

"NO!"

"Oh, so you hate the poor, huh?"

The GOP's laughably dishonest PR tactic to fool Cult45 on government shutdown.

If only the Democrats weren't the majority in Congress, the Republicans could no doubt pass a balanced budget on time and not have to play stupid political games.

Yes, I know Republicans are in charge, yes, that was sarcasm, please don't take it literally.

This is the most misleading bull**** that's always posted. Furthermore you contradict yourself.

Sounds like a genius move to me. Pulling off a back-handed double-cross is no small feat!!

Wrong, CHIP is covered in the House bill. DACA is the reason for the conflict is not covered and should be. Besides another 30 day extension is not the answer, do it right and do it now or don't do it at all.

Oh no! Another paid vacation for "non-essential" federal personnel looms due to congress critter misconduct so...

Oh no! Another stupid hyperbolic post from someone who clearly doesn't understand the facts of the situation or does understand but just doesn't care about being a dishonest, misrepresenting, propagandist!

I don't know how you take vacations....

But me? My vacations do not tend to have a significant chance of impacting my credit. My vacations do not leave me in a lurch unsure if I'm going to fail to be able to pay my bills. My vacations do not leave me paralyzed in terms of when they may be ending. My vacations tend to be things that relieve stress, not add to them.

The "paid vacation" **** can be tossed in the trash, because that's where it belongs. Want to suggest that the shutdown isn't that impactful? Fine, there's ways to make that realistically. But the notion that it's just a "paid vacation" is absolute bull**** and a gross misrepresentation.

Chuck Schumer thinks the American public is stupid. He SAYS any shutdown will be the Republicans' fault because they control the legislative and executive branches of government ("They're in charge"). But he's being disingenuous because he KNOWS that he can filibuster any spending bill in the Senate, since Republicans only have 51 votes but need 60 for cloture. He's willing to let federal workers, who are American citizens, go without paychecks because he'd rather help illegal aliens than them. SO LET SHUTDOWN SCHUMER KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT:

No, it's not, just like the 2013 shutdown wasn't a "Obama/Democrat shutdown" controlling 2/3rds of that same set.

If the Republicans can't get anything past the House, then they are primarily at fault. If they can send something over to the Senate and the Democrats filibuster it...ESPECIALLY over matters like DACA that have nothing to do with actual funding and budgeting of the government...then they are at the very least equally at fault for the clownshow that is our governments ability to do one of the most basic of duties, funding itself.

I feel perfectly comfortable going back to 2013 and showing if my stances regarding fault and a shutdown are consistent...would you be?

Indeed. I'm incredibly happy that people don't suddenly become ignorant of how the government works whenever it becomes advantageous for their ****ty political points

Yes, I know that people absolutely do feign ignorance of how government works when it suits their purposes. your post is a great example of that.

I'm still wondering we're paying for "nonessential" personel, to begin with.

You guys are really ridiculous. Republicans control both houses and the presidency, how the hell is it democrats fault? What a joke. Republicans are complete and utter assholes. They just gave away billions to rich people, but don't want to provide help for children? GEt the **** out of here. God damn the idiocy from the right knows no bounds

And you have no response but a dumb deflection. I see we have just another good for nothing troll who can't defend his position. Anyway, enjoy the fictional world you live in

And Trump has told Schumer and Pelosi that he's willing to sign a DACA bill if they provide funding for border security (the Wall). But, once again, they're more concerned about illegal aliens than the security and well-being of American citizens. Hence Shutdown Schumer and Nodeal Nancy deserve ALL of the blame.

I'm still wondering we're paying for "nonessential" personel, to begin with.

Perhaps you should do a bit of research into what "nonessential" personnel do, and then you'd understand better. As I pointed out in another thread...

Tell me, do you think government employees should be paid? Because the people who process those payments? They're non-essential employees, doing a non-essential duty. Clearly, why in the world would we have the government actually bothering paying it's employees since it's "non-essential". How about Human Capital and Business Management related things such as hiring, or dealing with the agencies budget, or dealing with employee benefits, or organizing the job related training for employees. All of those things tend to be considered "non-essential" in major agencies during a shutdown; are you suggesting that we should be "wondering" why the government has people working for them doing those things in the first place.

Grrrr! Stupid old government, they should be more like private industry. Because you know, private industry doesn't bother with payroll, budgets, hiring, or training.

Yes, indeed. The way it really works is that when one party dominates the Congress and White House, they get to blame the other party for failures. That's called the real world of extreme partisanship. That's how the government really works.

A wall is a complete waste of money, the stupidity of right wingers that think a wall is needed and will do anything at all is astounding. Even more absurd from those that always whine about democrats spending, but your OK with pissing away billions on a stupid wall, plus billions more to maintain and keep it up?

Go build the stupid wall, and real AMericans will keep blowing that stupid **** up

Only the most partisan hacks among us who blamed the republicans for the shutdown under obama will blame trump and the GOP if this one happens. Doesn't the raging hypocrisy bother any of you folks?

I wonder if trump will use capitol police to keep dying WWII veterans out of an unstaffed memorial pavilion like Obama did.

nice vitriol.
