This bigot will happily never use the USPS for anything other than junk mail delivery.
Great, so you're saying that the USPS systemically hires "rude" workers, which, guess what, is a failure of leadership.

You can't directly attack all of USPS without directly attacking those who are responsible for the management of USPS.

I never met a manager when I dealt with the post office, I dealt with deck plate level people that worked for the post office.

    They suck!

And, you didn't even look at the links I gave you because you would know this if you had.

I dont know about all that but I do know that up till a few years ago the people who drive around putting mail in our large community mailboxes used to wear at least one thing that seemed sorta of a part of a uniform, but now they often look like random someones on the street who dont give a damn how they look.

This tells me that management is breaking down.

    Probably morale as well.
I regret that, in our attempt to establish some standards, we didn't make them stick, we couldn't find a way to pass them on to another generation, really.<<<<<<<Walter Cronkite

The last 2 postal worker on my route drive the little cube trucks.

If someone parks in front of my house, they are too lazy get out and step 4 feet to my box. I got 2 warnings from the post office in regards to vehicles blocking my mailbox. I never park on the street, but I can't stop others either.

They said it was unsafe for the driver to have to step out of the van.

Meanwhile, 4 blocks from me, the carriers actually walk?

The Post Office can go **** itself.

I have lived here since 2004 (on military bases before that), they have always been militant on that. I dont know if this is true or not but 6 or so years ago it was a problem, the post office employee told me that if we residents on the street did not fix the problem (AKA police the situation, find out who was doing it and stop it) then they would suspend our mailbox and make us drive the 4 miles or what ever it is to the post office to get all of our mail....which tends to have long lines these days so the whole project would take forever..thus it is quite the threat.

Amazon and others can continue doing it legally until it changes. If our retail system is going to transition to a factory direct to end user model, package delivery will have to change, too. Why all the negative ink about a semi public entity breaking even?

I don't know why you think that changes anything. If the managers provided proper leadership, the grunts would not have widespread, problematic behaviors.

    From your link:

The No. 1 complaint of postal customers is the waiting time in line, which is caused by understaffing
Seems like underinvestment in staffing and training might play a role, no?

From post #172 in this thread, which you responded to:

USPS is already in serious trouble, as it's trying to transition from delivering letters (and junk mail) to delivering packages. They can't take many of the steps they'd need to get things under control, because Congress has ordered them to pay forward their pension obligations, and refuses to let them close unprofitable post offices. The USPS needs to maximize the utilization of their system. They cannot afford to lose much of Amazon's business.

Add to that how they can't change their base rates without approval of Congress -- who hasn't granted it.

They've lost millions per year, not because of the deal with Amazon, but because Congress is demanding they do all sorts of expensive things which they can't afford to do.
Yet again you conflate your assertions with the sources you are using and never connect the two. I don't need to read anything more carefully if you never substantiate it.

    Are you for reals?

The points about the transition are from the Bloomberg article, which I quoted. I can only surmise you haven't read either the article or the quote.

Face it. Amazon is in a strong negotiating position; USPS is in a weak position. I see little indication they will get much out of a renegotiation.

Oh, and you haven't provided a single scrap of evidence to support the claim that this deal needs to be renegotiated. What a surprise.

For whatever reason, the Bloomberg article brought up 1 and only 1 paragraph for me and I quoted the entire thing. Shipping deals are frequently renegotiated.
