Your point was that interest is "growing" which it isn't.
The overall point is that items such as Meals on Wheels is not a drain on the federal budget and to target something like that which does much for poor seniors -- while advocating tax-cuts on the rich, is morally depraved.
Nope, my point was that the national debt is growing because congress critters of both parties refuse to tax enough to cover their desired spending.
Your argument is similar to since one's spending for getting their fingernails a fancy paint job is trivial compared to their spending on an upgraded cable TV channel package that having fancy looking fingernails is not an expense worth cutting.
All that I ask is that the federal government not spend more (as % of GDP) than it dare ask for in taxation. Budgeting is about setting spending priorities such that they do not exceed projected income.
I have no idea why you assume that I support tax cuts for the rich or anyone else. I think even Trump realizes that he cannot cut taxes without cutting spending as well.
