But why? Obviously because politicians depend on incompetent voters, to whom nothing can be explained, since populism reigns in politics. Let's imagine for a moment that we introduced a certain electoral qualification and selected only competent voters. Do you think populism would have survived in this case? Would politicians become more honest? Maybe it's time to give up universal suffrage?

They would certainly not insist that their centuries-old design for a balanced three-part separation system of checks on power is working correctly. Perpetual corruption and relative social discontent indicate that the mission to deliver domestic tranquility has been skewed.
