Trump Evictions - Moving Day

The house has had a bill ready for two months... Where has the GOP senate been?

Senate doesn't act on bills until they arrive from the house. Has the House sent anything over?

There are various needs and various solutions needed for the Governors of the various states to overcome.

The needs presented to the Governor of New York are likely very different than those presented to the Governor of Montana.

Creating a one size fits all mandate, rigid and unchangeable as the approach is not just stupid, it's also foolish and illegal.

Also very Democrat-Socialist.
Stupid.

The guidelines were exactly that. Phases that outlined rules and procedures based on the data of the state.

For example, when Michigan extended the stay at home order it was because the data and Whitehouse guidelines recommended that.

The supporters of impeached trump protested and trump undermined the governor. His lack of courage to tell his supporters to go home, wear a mask, and socially distance negatively impacted our ability to reduce the spread.

Yep... Any more stupid deflections that are easy to look up?

He did what was legally allowed.

The American left is an interesting group of hypocritical morons demanding dictatorial action and then hysterically shrieking that dictatorial action is being seized illegally by the President.

Which is it that you are doing in the illogical complaint you posted above? Requesting dictatorial action or warning against it?

Totally missed my point, not surprised, anything in defense of the orangeman. He could of taken a leadership role and decided not to and then used the excuse that it's up to the states. Now we have 50 states with 50 agendas when with 1 executive action he could have set a national agenda to deal with the pandemic. But please, keep making it about defending the president.

Blue States should be helping out if our federal Congress is "stuck" in a political quagmire.

...The Judicial Council of California announced earlier this month it would vote on ending its emergency protections for tenants as early as Aug. 14, shifting the onus to act to legislators. With the deadline looming, Gov. Gavin Newsom has extended local governments’ ability to ban evictions until Sept. 30, but many are counting on the Legislature, which is considering multiple bills to extend that ban and protect tenants and property owners who have lost income....Access Denied

Vote blue not red!

The Senate proposed their own Bill, don't you know that. They are trying to work out a compromise between the two Bills, problem is the Dems are willing and the Repubs aren't, and that is where we stand.

You seem to be running from one side of the issue to the other.

You shriek in one post that the President was delinquent by not issuing national mandates to supersede the authority of the governors.

In this post you assert that the President in fact DID issue guidelines that you seem to now feel are binding. This would be a mandate.

What are you talking about? Do you know?

You are saying that our laws are an "excuse".

This might be the basis of the flawed thinking that seems to dictate the actions and warped sensibilities of the Democrat-Socialist voter.

This is where I would normally ask, "What's wrong with you people?" It seems to be pretty obvious.

Tell me: Why do you feel that our law needs to be abandoned?

Yes, impeached trump issued guidelines.

Yes, some governors attempted to follow the guidelines.

Yes, trump and the GOP undermined, and sometimes (see WI) successfully stopped the implementation of those guidelines.

Yes, as a result, the virus continued to spread and 160,000+ Americans are now dead.

Yes, the same people, led by impeached trump, who created the guidelines were the same people who undermined and eventually stopped the implementation of the guidelines.

Yes, those same people now say play sports and open schools.

Yes, those same people say it is political if you don't play sports and open schools.

Yes, they also believe you should vote for them.

Yes, vote in person because the only reason they will lose is if voting by mail is allowed.

The most inept president should lose in a landslide. There is no defending 160,000+ dead Americans and a continued recession.

I am constant, I believe the guidelines introduced by trump would have worked. Unfortunately, the impeached president doesn't have the courage to do what is right. He made this political by undermining his own plan when implemented by Democratic Governors.

What a failure.

Clear?

...yet, still no executive order to faithfully execute our own at-will employment laws in our at-will employment States to help Automatically stabilize our economy.

Only "legislation from the Oval Office" will do for the right wing.

Your feelings on this is clear. Your view of reality is warped.

Everything seems to hang from the misconception that the President did something sometime to interfere the efforts to follow the Administration Guidelines.

Do you have a link from a source in the real world to support your delusion?

Yes. The admin set the re-opening guidelines one day and the very next day he was tweeting 'liberate your states'. He began pressuring governors to re-open before the WH guidelines had been followed. Trump owns this virus response, including the part about choosing to not move forward with a national testing plan because it appeared to only be affecting blue states.

When they write the history about this admin, it ain't going to be pretty.

Right wingers don't care about the People only their practice of the Abomination of Hypocrisy (unto God) or their guy would have signed a simple executive order to faithfully execute our laws regarding the whole and entire concept of employment at the Will of Either party for unemployment compensation in our at the Will of Either party employment States. They don't care about equality or equal protection of the laws if it doesn't promote their hypocrisy for political purposes, not justice for all.

Does he have the power to do that?
The federal government, if not the president specifically, has far more power to do this than the states. The states are actually explicitly forbidden from doing so, pursuant to Article I, Section 10, Clause I:
No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

Hack post.

Fauci and the democrats have moved the goal post so many times it isn't funny.

Hack post. Trump has moved the goal post so many times it isn't funny.

"It's going to disappear"

"Only 15 cases, soon to be zero"

"I used to say 65,000, and now I’m saying 80 or 90 [thousand].”

Etc...

Blah Blah Blah

Each state opened up as it saw fit, and adjusted their policies as they saw fit.

But keep on playing the blame game as you wish. :2wave:

Oh, just about everyone screwed this up, no doubt. But it would have helped if Trump had put forth a national plan. Instead, he quietly put Kushner in charge, who did nothing because it was hurting blue states first and thought, stupidly, that it wouldn't hit red states one day.

A National plan?

Like wearing a mask?

Like washing your hands?

Like social distancing?

Like a joint effort between the Fed's and pharmaceutical companies to develop a vaccine?

Like giving the individual states everything they needed?

Like not violating any individual state rights on Covid policies?
