Election Betting Odds: Susan Rice skyrockets to #1, Harris falls by 30%

Susan Rice is the perfect VP, she will say literally anything she is told to. I’m surprised she hasn’t been a press secretary for Trump

You obviously know nothing of Susan rice. She would literally vomit in Trumps throat if it would save his life. She is highly educated, highly disciplined, the daughter of demanding parents. The one and only thing anyone can say against her was that she was pushed to make a statement about Benghazi when they were not sure. And I will take your four Benghazi deaths and raise you One Hundred Fifty thousand trump deaths.
She just doesn't have the fire. She does not believe one should ever have to raise their voice. Ever. She finds it a sign of weakness. I have no doubt she is the best VP choice, but can she be the best choice and get elected maintaining her calm and cool demeanor?
Seriously, if you have never seen her interviewed lately, google her and check her out. She has her hsit together.

Susan Rice is who Republicans are hoping Biden picks.

Could it be he's taking so long because Michelle Obama keeps saying "No!"

I would call Harris the slight favorite, as well.

I think it depends on where Biden's thrust in using the candidate will be. Campaigning, or governing? Harris will likely excel at the former, and Rice will likely excel at the latter.

Harris would make a great A.G., though. That would set her up for a Presidential run as well as being Veep would.
I think Biden strategists also need to be sensitive to the Electoral College.

If they all learned anything from 2016, they know how important these swing states can be.

I would think if they're smart their thrust has to be campaigning.

Though the top two are Harris and Rice, there's still a lot to be said for Whitmer. Trump won Michigan in 2016 and Whitmer could simply guarantee that won't happen again.

Part of the decision too hinges on where Biden alone stands with African Americans. Some of his statements in recent weeks regarding Black communities have been .. well, "cancel" worthy.

So, yeah, he may need Harris or Rice to make amends, but will either help him in the Electoral College? Biden's got Harris's California already, and Rice hails from D.C. so no EC asset there. In what other swing states will having a Black woman as the VP candidate push him over the top .. or, cause him to fail.

I can understand why he's delayed the decision.

There's very little evidence VP's make a difference when it comes to winning certain states. Ask Mitt Romney how much Paul Ryan helped him in Wisconsin.

Well, I very much agree the most important attribute will be campaigning. The first rule of governance, is to attain a position to govern!

As to bringing along a state, I think it's over-rated. Stats seem to show Veeps don't really bring their states along.

And as to an A-A Veep, I think it's critical. The A-A vote is critical to a Dem win. And, it has been argued that the lack-luster A-A vote for HRC in 2016 allowed Trump to squeak by.
