Would you be fine if Trump formed a coup to be President for life?

Usually, but if you lose like Maduro did he forms a coup to retain power, so Trump would be turning the USA into a mini Venezuela.

He will lose his re-election bid so long as trump cannot cheat enough to steal the election.

If he stays after he loses he should try and stay away from windows, open top cars, or any area he can be seen with an open shot, some patriot would remove the dictator sooner or later, that is how traitors are treated by Americans.

That’s not true. Which is why “self-coup” exists as a concept and has occurred in history.

That's actually not true. A coup can be any effort to take over power through illegitimate means. If you're taking power permanently for yourself by removing it from a democratic system, then that is a coup.

Clayton Thyne and Jonathan Powell's dataset of coups defines attempted coups as "illegal and overt attempts by the military or other elites within the state apparatus to unseat the sitting executive."[1] They arrive at this definition by combining common definitions in the existing literature, and removing specificities and ambiguities that exist in many definitions.[1]

In looser usage, as in "intelligence coup" or "boardroom coup", the term simply refers to gaining a sudden advantage on a rival.

A meaningless point since its our democratic process that determines the sitting executive. Remove the democratic process and that's a coup.

Why would it need to? Any coup by a person in power to hold onto or expand their power beyond the legal limits is by definition a self-coup.
