Things are not all good in Portland. I think everyone would agree with that statement, while there may be disagreement as to what exactly is the problem (whether the root of the issue is the protestors or police).
However, it is clear that letting the protestors completely have their was opens the door for those who take advantage of the situation for violence but at the same time, the police also need to treat the people they are charged to protect better. This means there should be some neutral ground somewhere that people can find to begin working together.
What should this neutral ground be?
