I think it is about time that we start talking about what now seems inevitable.........Trump loses the election in November. What will Trumpers (and Republicans) do to fix their party and hope to get back to office in 2024?

Trump has become an idol to rally around among Conservatives who literally have been willing to give everything they have ever believed in for (their honor, their principles, their feeling of right and wrong, their beliefs in justice, their desire for truth). Following such an act is impossible to do. Consider Rubio or Haley, who are likely to be running for President in 2024, will they have the kind of magnet attention that Trump garnered among his base? Will they be able to generate the kind of following among Republicans that Trump did? Not likely at all.

How will the Republican party survive a loss in November given that Trump has set such low standards for being a president that the Democrats will be able to use those low standards as ammunition for all future elections when attacking the Republican party. What will the Republicans stand for in the future that can be believed and that will be strong enough to garner attention of the nation? Abortion?

I do believe that after the loss in November there will be denial, then great anger among the Trumpers (all normal reactions to a loss) but the normal 3rd step of acceptance is not likely to happen and that means that the Republican party will be split in half between those that believed in him to the nth degree and want the same again and again and refuse to accept less and those that will be looking for a new platform for the next election in order to recover their original Conservative ideals that the party has represented in the past and that might bring them back to power. This is a scenario that will keep them from recovering any ability in the future to garner enough votes to be back in control. This is also the kind of scenario that will keep Congress (both Senate and House) in Democrat hands for years to come.

A Trump loss in November will be catastrophic event for the Republican party they may never recover from. In addition, the fact that Trump is likely to be taken to court after he is no longer president and found guilty of many crimes is going to be the "nail in the coffin" for Republicans who blindly followed him to the grave. The grave is what I believe is going to happen to the Republican party with a loss in November.

I will be ordering wreaths in November. I am a compassionate man.

Climb back under their rock and wait for David Duke to run for President.

We won't riot or burn cities or march wearing stupid ***** hats.

They'll pretend to care about the debt and deficit again?

Those MAGA hats are as close to a SUPID ***** HAT as it gets considering its sponsor is actually a gutless wimp (a bit far from the strongman of your fantasies). You boys don't seem to have much trouble convincing yourselves to walk through cities in camo, body armor AR's at the ready.

Erupt into violence to keep him in power. As He demads.

my guess is that if he loses, he will try to incite people to take to the streets.

There are always outliers but, in your side's case, not millions.

I think you should be more worried about the continuation of the violence and mayhem after Trump wins.

You mean like the incitement of people taking to the street TODAY? Y'all seem to be fine with that.

Unlike the extremely orderly political left who would never do such a thing

It's a good question. Trump has radicalized the party but not in a political direction. He's made it a strong man party with Trump as that lone charismatic leader. Trump is not strong. He's fragile. Behind his facade he is weak of character, unlike the despots he admires. It is the facade that's strong. And his charisma is limited to a minority of the country. For those he has swooned his defeat will be harder to take than it would be for an elected leader who leaves a surviving party behind that embodies his politics. It all goes when he goes, so for many of his followers a Trump defeat would be a kind of death.

Cite an example where people on the Right have ever done that?

It depends on what you mean by “the right” and “erupt into violence”

Usually if the left instigates enough repression the right will cause a violent reaction. And I think it would be justified.

An example was Spain in 1936 or Finland in 1918 or Afghanistan after Mohammed Douds assasination.

If the political left begins land and wealth seizures, groundless arrests and prosecutions of conservatives, mistreatment of political prisoners and repression of Churches (and the Democratic Party has openly endorsed or begun to carry out all of these things) we are in severe danger of civil war territory

My prediction: Trump loses but even more concerning for the GOP will the down ticket losses. Demographic have been against the GOP for years and Trump has just accelerated the need for the GOP to transform itself and shed some of it's party platforms. I predict a battle within the GOP leadership over changing the party platform to try to shift toward the center on a number of issues. It won't be quick or pretty.

If the DNC retains the house (almost a certainty), take the senate (possible) and take the presidency, I expect (demand) substantial federal election legislation that will make it much, much harder for the GOP.

who is "y'all?" i have been solidly and consistently against gathering in crowds during a pandemic, and have sacrificed much of my family time in the effort to fight it scientifically.

Which would be grounds for civil war since by election legislation you mean permanently fixing election laws to benefit only democrats. And also making PR a state against their wishes, and legalizing millions of illegal aliens and sending them ballots. I have no doubt the democrats will immediately move to rig elections in their favor permanently. And at that point they will begin religious repression and property seizures. What you’re basically doing is what the Spanish republicans did in 1935. Trigger a reaction hoping to defeat it. And also changing the structure of the government to make it impossible to lose. That never works permanently

I promise to take a Biden win just as well as lefties have taken Trump’s win.

So, what you are saying is, if Dems raise any taxes, take away Trump's ill gotten property, prosecute Republicans that broke laws, throw REpublican criminals in prison and stop church politicking, you right wingers will murder half our population?

LOL... It's almost like you don't want every eligible voter to be able to vote....

There seems to be this pervasive idea among some conservatives that if a civil war were to occur that they would win. Careful what you wish for...

Nobody has done more to change the structure of government in one term than Donald Duck. In fact, you seem to forget that most of you voted for him hoping for that outcome. Project much do ya'?

If you attempt to repress religion I will take up arms.

It is not murder to defend one’s self from political repression. Tyrannacide is permissible under moral doctrine.

If it comes to that large numbers of people will perish, which is why you lefties should start deescalating and toning down the rhetoric and disavowing Antifa unrest and Beto O Rourke’s taxing churches that don’t affirm liberal sexual doctrine.

Donald Trump has only reduced government authority.

That’s his problem. I would’ve been stacking agencies with loyal people.

Honestly, half at any given time probably deserves it....can't fix stupid.
