Michelle Obama says she is managing 'low-grade depression'

Former first lady Michelle Obama, in a new episode of her podcast on Wednesday, acknowledged that she is "dealing with some form of low-grade depression" this year. "Not just because of the quarantine, but because of the racial strife, and just seeing this administration, watching the hypocrisy of it, day in and day out, is dispiriting," Obama said on the podcast episode, the second episode of the season.

She blames, in part, the Trump administration's response to current events for her depression.
"I don't think I'm unusual, in that," Obama said. "But, I'd be remiss to say that part of this depression, is also a result of what we're seeing in terms of the protests, the continued racial unrest, that has plagued this country, since its birth. I have to say, that waking up to the news, waking up to how this administration has or has not responded, waking up to, yet another story of a Black man or a Black person somehow being dehumanized, or hurt or killed, or falsely accused of something, it is exhausting. And it has led to a weight that I haven't felt in my life, in a while."

It's pretty amazing. Social unrest and violence are exploding across the country, as we try to cope with an un-managed pandemic, destroyed economy, and nonfunctional institutions of learning. Yet Trump & his crowd try to sell us, "The fault lies with 'Democratic cities'". I believe they're not that tone-deaf. I think they know exactly what they're doing. Laying-off blame.

My mother is a republican. SHe is however also a lunch lady. They dont appreciate all the extra work, but understand the value of adding a FRESH FRUIT AND SALAD BAR to schools. Trump wants filth and fat fed to our children. He eats that ****, so thinks all children should as well.

* Percent of adults aged 20 and over with overweight, including obesity: 71.6% (2015-2016)

Children and adolescents:

That's bad. Really, really bad. And the only way you effectively prevent the former is to aggressively attack the latter. The longer someone is overweight/obese, the harder it is to lose and keep off the weight. America is eating and lazing itself to death. Too much crap 'food', too little exercise. Michelle's initiative was just one small step in the right direction.

It's just like Trumpists to make inarguable health points into political issues. If the Democrats started campaigns to advise people on the dangers of falling off of bridges, you can bet Trumpists would take up the fight against having safety railings. But mah freedumbz!

The middle school/junior high served pizza made with some bizarre sort of fake cheese. You could chew for minutes and you'd still have this smallish hard ball of residue of leftover "cheese indgredient" in your mouth, which you could choose to swallow or spit out as you dared.
