Cancel Culture's objective is obvious and #WalkAway exposes it.

Both examples are more than a decade old! lol Did you just wake up from a coma? Are you still doing the Macarena?

Right wingers tried to boycott Oreos, Walmart, Netflix, Starbucks, Budweiser...all of these since Trump took office. Recent enough?

Football. Nike. Keurig.

Cancel culture! We need smelling salts!

I don't care about boycotts. That's fair game. I care about attacking individuals over speech and corporations like YouTube and Twitter discriminately enforcing political narratives and permanently banning dissenters, even as those companies enjoy legal privileges. The former respects individual rights; the latter less so.

Youtube has no legal, moral, or financial, or contractual obligation to nazis.

The right cancels a lot too. It's any persons choice to do.

When have they rioted to prevent a liberal from speaking on a college campus?
When have they shown up to the house of a democrat and terrorized their families?
When have they demanded that restaurants refuse to serve democratic politicians or outspoken progressives?
When have they demanded that a person be fired from their job because they espoused a belief that they disagreed with?

Give me a break...

How about you address this paragraph from my op:

If you watch any of the hundreds of WalkAway testimonials where former progressives, SJW's and democratic voters explain why they decided to walk away from the left, there is a recurring theme that seems to be present in nearly all of them. They all discovered through listening to opposing views and taking the time to research what is true for themselves, that most of the things they believed about republicans/conservatives they had been told all their lives by the media, democrats, celebrities, teachers and far left activists, were nothing but a bunch of lies. Once they discovered the truth and saw the destructiveness of identity politics, it completely changed their lives and left them with no choice but to abandon the left. Many of them still hold liberal beliefs and disagree with conservatives on various issues, but at least they know where they stand, are accepted for who they are, and are no longer being lied to.

The reason things have escalated so dramatically is because the far left understands exactly what the greatest threat to their ideology is, and are now doing everything in their power snuff that enemy out. That threat is the truth.
lol

OK then, what is behind the rise of the illiberal right?

If you watch any of the hundreds of WalkAway testimonials where former progressives....
hahahaha

OK then, what motivates people to walk away from the right wing or Republican party? Or are you really going to pretend that doesn't happen, despite the actual data? (Note: The plural of anecdote is not "data.")

But hey, who cares about the opinions of millions of people, when you've got a few YouTube videos from random people, who have 77 views? lol...

At that time, I was firmly liberal. I voted for Hillary. I'm 100% voting for Trump this time. Too many Democrats are racist and support violence. They lost me. I do not subscribe to identitarianism or believe that immutable qualities of human beings should be a main driver of political action. BLM/KKK are cut from the same ugly, racist, authoritarian cloth. Screw em all.

Also, just to be clear, I defended the Dixie Chicks at the time and still oppose cancel culture. I believe in free speech for all. I have been and continue to be left-libertarian in my basic viewpoint.

Cancel culture is on both sides

It is just not as effective on the right as it is on the left now.

Your view of free speech however is misguided

How could the Dixie chicks free speech be respected without forcing people to buy their products or go to their concerts?

The right tried to boycott Starbucks over coffee cups, Kuerig for not advertising on a Fox show etc.

In the 80’s and 90’s the religious right was boycotting and successfully so. Ellen’s TV show was boycotted over the first lesbian kiss on TV.

Right wingers tried to boycott Oreos, Walmart, Netflix, Starbucks, Budweiser...all of these since Trump took office. Recent enough?

I'll ask you the same thing I asked Lisa...

What gave you the idea that this post hinged on corporate boycotts being the definition of cancel culture?

Everything on the top

Replace liberal with Black people or other ethnic minorities and the reason being their ethnicity

Right wing folks regularly cancel black, and LGBTQ people by excluding them from their business or service. Not just right wing and not just black and LGBTQ but you get it. Canceled. Fox news has people so afraid of BLM that I'm sure it will get worse.

I'm 100% positive that I can find examples of right wingers excluding left wingers effectively canceling them. I see them say they will do it whenever a business takes a stand. "I will never shop there again".

So, your response was bull****. It happens all the time on both sides, as much as I hate the usage of that point.

I will have to read your post again, but I just wanted to correct you here. Politicians deserve immense scrutiny by their constituents. Surely....fkin hopefully..you can agree with that. Those politicans need to go and face their people they are ignoring or hanging out to dry. If they lie over and over like we've seen in the trump admin, damn right they should be challenged by the people.

The WalkAway movement isn't about joining the republican party, it's about discovering they've been lied to and walking away from the democrats.

I'm allowed to criticize what people say, what's the issue?

Youtube has no legal, moral, or financial, or contractual obligation to nazis.

They do, actually. And to violent, racist morons on the left, too. That's why they have special protections under federal law, but they're quickly squandering that by failing to act in good faith. Evil people get to talk on the phone and have their lights turn on, too.

I'll ask you the same thing I asked Lisa...

Because you people keep talking about destroying businesses or peoples' livlihoods.

Evil people get to talk on the phone, yes. What do you think that has to do with youtube?

Do you have a right to talk on my phone?

What's lead to the far left's cancel culture becoming the monster that it is today, started during President Obama's time in office. That was when democrats and mainstream leftists went all in on the identity politics strategy, and made the choice to label anyone who opposed Obama's policies or actions as being "racist". But that was only the beginning...

Then seemingly out of nowhere the normal protests to conservative speakers on college campuses by the far left, morphed into blatant attempts to silence them all together. They did everything in their power to prevent conservatives and anyone who voiced any opinion the left disagreed with from speaking. People like Ben Shapiro, Jason Riley, Ann Coulter, and Milo, just to name a few. From there they began targeting conservative voices on radio and TV. Since they didn't have the power to use violence and threats to prevent them from expressing their political views on air, they instead threatened the networks they worked for and the companies who sponsored their shows. In Tucker Carlson's case, a leftist mob showed up at his house and terrorized his wife and family while he was doing his show. It didn't stop there either. Since the election of Donald Trump, we've seen his supporters, political conservatives, republican politicians, and members of the Trump administration publicly assaulted and harassed by leftist mobs for absolutely no reason at all.

Since the death of George Floyd cancel culture has gone into high gear. With the support of democratic governors and mayors the left has gone on a rampage destroying anything and everything in their paths, and now anyone, regardless of ideology, who expresses anything publicly or privately, that does not conform to the far left ideology or in any way opposed the actions of BLM or ANTIFA, can quickly become a target and have their entire lives ruined in the blink of an eye.

The reason things have escalated so dramatically is because the far left understands exactly what the greatest threat to their ideology is, and are now doing everything in their power snuff that enemy out. That threat is the truth. That is what they have been fighting so hard against. In the past it used to be a battle of ideas, and they respected the free expression of those ideas. But in recent years those ideas haven't garnished the political following they had hoped for, so they adopted identity politics as their primary political strategy. The only way identity politics can succeed is if political ideas are taken off the table, and the truth is suppressed, which explains cancel culture and it's rapid escalation.

Drop the persacutory Cancel Culture nonsense because there have always been corporate boycotts and protests. I remember conservatives burning their Kreuig coffee makers, attacking YETI coolers and Nike shoes, or are we supposed to forget get that?

Difference is

They destroyed their OWN stuff

Bull... That's called discrimination and it's illegal. And don't bother citing the Colorado baker, because he acted on his religious beliefs, not some political ideology.

I'm 100% positive that I can find examples of right wingers excluding left wingers effectively canceling them. I see them say they will do it whenever a business takes a stand. "I will never shop there again".

Then please, by all means post those examples.

Saying "I will never shop there again" is legitimate protest, but that has nothing to do with what the cancel culture is doing.

So, your response was bull****. It happens all the time on both sides, as much as I hate the usage of that point.

If I'm so wrong, then why didn't you address each thing I posted and prove them to be false?

I will have to read your post again, but I just wanted to correct you here. Politicians deserve immense scrutiny by their constituents. Surely....fkin hopefully..you can agree with that. Those politicans need to go and face their people they are ignoring or hanging out to dry.

That's what town hall meetings are for... You don't show up to their houses and raise hell, or try to get businesses to refuse service to them.

When have they rioted to prevent a liberal from speaking on a college campus?
So, you're just going to ignore all the white supremacists and Boogaloos causing violence at recent protests? Oh okay then

Do you think these guys are progressives?

Did you miss the whole Malheur takeover? The Bundy standoff? The right-wingers who repeatedly mow down progressive protesters?

Are the police who attack BLM and anti-police-brutality protesters progressives?

When have they shown up to the house of a democrat and terrorized their families?
Do you really not know that it's common for right-wingers to doxx and harass random progressives who pop up in the news?

Did you miss the incel who shot a judge's son and husband?

Were you napping during GamerGate?

When have they demanded that restaurants refuse to serve democratic politicians or outspoken progressives?
Did you miss the whole Masterpiece Bakeshop thing?

Do you really not know that the right has been opposed to civil rights legislation for decades?

When have they demanded that a person be fired from their job because they espoused a belief that they disagreed with?
Did you miss calls to fire Shepherd Smith, Chuck Todd, Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly?

Did you miss the whole Dixie Chicks-George Bush thing?

Did you miss the right-wing reactions to Beyonce's SuperBowl performance?

Did you miss the demands to fire Colin Kaepernick? (Only to later bash BLM advocates for not being peaceful enough in their protests...)

Did you miss right-wing boycotts of Nike, Nordstrom, Starbucks, Anheuser-Busch, Amazon, Ben & Jerry's?

Did you forget how Fox News fans attacked their own Keurig machines, after the company stopped advertising on Hannity?

Did you miss how the right-wing incels and racists threw a rod over diverse casting in the recent Star Wars movies?

Get real. Both right and left wing have liberal and illiberal tendencies. Denying the existence of right-wing illiberalism today is just blatant, myopic bias.

So, you're just going to ignore all the white supremacists and Boogaloos causing violence at recent protests? Oh okay then

There a huge difference... Conservatives and republicans do not support or endorse people like that, and we sure as hell don't give them a seat at the political table.

I understand exactly where you're coming from... When you embrace a political party, or political ideology, that supports and condones the rioting, looting, destruction of property, and sides with marxist, communist, anarchist and various other violent anti-American organisations, what other choice do you have by to convince yourself that the other guys are just as bad.

The people who walk away from the democratic party do so because for what ever reason, they decided to do some digging and learn the truth. The open their eyes and discover that everything they've been fed throughout their lives, was all a bunch of lies. They figure out just how destructive identity politics is to this nation and are left with no other choice but to part ways with them.

If you want to pretend that there is no cancel culture, and pretend that the left isn't doing everything in their power to hide the truth by silence opposing views, go for it... it's your life.

The WalkAway movement is not derived from individuals abandoning liberalism and adopting political conservatism... It's about people discovering for themselves if the things they had been told all their lives were true or not. It's comprised of democratic voters and folks who have identified as democrats all their lives, who for various reasons decided to discover for themselves the truth about both the people and party they identified with, and the people and party they had always opposed.
Wrong and dishonest.

Fox & Friends hosts founder of astroturfed #WalkAway “movement” who has appeared on Infowars

Straka’s “movement” is really an astroturfed social media campaign that has been amplified by both Infowars and Russian bots. Since early July, when the hashtag began to trend on Twitter, Straka himself has appeared on multiple Infowars shows to promote his so-called movement, and an analysis of the hashtag on Twitter found it to be a “psychological operation” aimed at shaping conversations in cable news segments, such as his appearance on Fox & Friends. According to multiple analyses, the hashtag's spread was largely driven by non-human activity, and accounts that tweeted in support of the “movement” had used pro-Trump hashtags such as #maga, #fakenews, and #qanon before they “walked away” from the Democratic Party. Moreover, according to Snopes, the campaign’s supporters have promoted the hashtag with misleading stock photos of people who had supposedly “walked away” from the Democratic Party, though Straka claims the photos were not actually created by the campaign itself.

Straka is a 4th rate (at best) **** bird con man.

A 4th rate **** bird, who speaks on Infowars, multiple times, with the rightly reviled lying sack of ****, Alex Jones, has zero credibility.
