When has the media ever pushed for Prez candidate not to debate?

I predicted months ago that there we be some sort of push by the Biden campaign, the media, or both, to suggest that Trump/Biden debates might not be such a good idea, and it appears we are starting to see just that. One New York Times columnist has even suggested scrapping presidential debates all together.

It's obvious that the closer we come to Biden having to take the stage against Trump, the more Biden supporters and his campaign staff (aka the mainstream news media) are fearing that a pending disaster might be on the horizon.

First and foremost we have never had a pandemic in our lifetime, and on top of the the worst President ever is a lying con man grifter.

Second of all the debates do not matter. Biden is winning and will win because Trump is an evil inept moron.

Looks like the U.S. is wide open for attacks. China, Russia meddling, and those pesky caravans, that trump can't get that damn wall built

Exactly. If I were Biden I'd accept the debates gladly and turn literally every question back to Trumps failure on this virus. "Why were you golfing when over 1000 Americans were dying every day?" "Why did you slow down testing when Americans were dying?" "Why were propping up a crazy doctor that thinks demons sleep with you in your dreams and cause diseases rather than listening to experts at the CDC and NIH etc?" "Did you really honestly think we'd only have 15 cases so you didn't prepare for anything or were you just lying?" etc etc etc.

You can go on for days. And if you get asked a question about a different topic you could bring it back around to trumps failure on the virus. Economy? Imagine how much better of a shape we'd be in if the president hadn't failed so hard and took charge with mask mandates and social distancing. etc.

Lets test that to see if yoy believe it. Cuomo sent infected people back into nursing homes where they promptly infected and killed hundreds more. Should we arrest him and charge him with murder?

We should hold him as accountable as Trump is held for his decisions. Cuomo should certainly be voted out after such a decision, provided the other person isnt worse, and investigations done into how culpable he and his admin could be for making such a decision.

But Cuomo isn't the President, who refused to make any necessary decisions for this country and did his best to make a pandemic about Party politics.

Do you imagine I am some loyal Party member?

Actually, not debating with Trump is the intelligent and common sense thing to do, given that Trump is a proven pathological liar. Having a debate with him will only bring lies and will accomplish nothing. Trump has no game plan for the next 4 years and as such, all he will do is try to debase Biden and call him names. The debate would accomplish absolutely nothing as proving Trump a liar is not necessary anymore. That has already been proven totally before.

A debate will not solve anything and will only help Trump simply because he will lie through his teeth. He will not address any real concerns so the debate will accomplish nothing other than allowing what Trump does best, which is bully the opposition with insulting words.

In addition, Biden was vice president for 8 years and Trump has been president for 4 years and neither is going to bring anything new to the table. It is already known what each person brings to the table. The debates would simply turn out to be shouting matches and we all know that Trump shouts the loudest.

No debates are needed. I am already voting for Biden and Trump minions are already voting for Trump. Just like the Republicans felt that no new witnesses were needed for the impeachment, they should not be surprised the Democrats don't need anymore proof to vote against Trump.
