Eliminate mail in voting?

Actually several states require a reason for absentee ballots

Which is not unreasonable. Having everyone vote on the same day makes sense. Otherwise we are all making decisions with different information. Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Penn, Vermont, Virginia and Wyoming all allow voting before a single presidential debate.

During a pandemic that is the stupidest thing you could possibly say.

My excuse is.....i dont want to die. Duh

Focus on prisoners.

Prisoners don't have the right to vote.
Neither do dead people. Or people from out of state.

They won't be sent ballots as you claimed.
They surely will.

You must be dizzy from all this spinning.

Are insults all you have beef? Because it seems that's all you've been throwing me since you started this losing argument.

Why would you die? Drive through ballot drop off on election day. I know they keep drilling it into you that you're going to die from this virus, but odds are 99.99% that you are not

Prove it.

They are not registered voters, they will not get ballots. I've shown you the law, you just ignore it.

I am not insulting you, just your terrible posts. You are the one that was saying other posters were 3rd graders....

Are you claiming every state has that?

Of course not. I know California does. Again, it's not rocket science if there is concern in your state that "I"M GOING TO DIE IF I VOTE"

Mail in voting already exists. They will not be doing this drive up nonsense where you sit in your car for 30 minutes trying to vote.

It is an incredibly stupid idea

They surely will.

Of course they are registered voters. Just like dead people and people have moved. For some bizzare reason, you have it stuck in your head that when people die, or they are sent to prison or they move, that the voter registration rolls are magically updated to remove them.

You want some to chew on? Here's CAlifornia's own report to the US Commission on Civil Rights. One of their top ten concerns?

6.Deceased, inactive and ineligible voters remain on voter lists;

We rank 49th in voter integrity.

Well, a lot of people don't share your faith in the USPS.

You aren't proving my point. Prisoners don't have the right to vote, ergo they are not registered voters, therefore they won't get ballots.

You seem to be dancing all around the point.

Right. The system works
Yep, and the ballots are handled through the military postal system until they're handed over to the US Post Office. No chance for people to grab them our of mailboxes or any other "mishandling".

Yes. This massive conspiracy of people attacking mailmen.

This gets better and better

So, is your solution to not count valid votes?

So, if it takes three weeks, it takes three weeks. Wouldn't you rather have all the valid votes counted?

Voting in person or via absentee ballot would seem to be the most accurate methods, wouldn't it?
(Please note, that vote by mail is not the same as the absentee ballot process).

You aren't proving my point.
No I'm not

Prisoners don't have the right to vote
For the Fourteenth, time, neither do dead people or people that have moved to Idaho

, ergo they are not registered voters, therefore they won't get ballots.

They are registered voters and they are on the voter registration lists and they will be sent ballots, even though they are ineligible to vote. I gave you the link, did you read it? Do you think the State of California was lying to the US Commision of Civil Rights when it confessed that "deceased, inactive and ineligible voters remain[ing] on voter lists" was one of the top ten concerns regarding its voting system?

You think people are going to wait in their car. Dude that is moronic

Wait for what? You drive by and drop your ballot in a box. Better than DYING FROM COVID BECAUSE YOU WENT INTO A GYM FOR 15 MINUTES TO CAST YOUR VOTE, right? Isn't that your stated fear and your justification for this mail-in voting scheme?

No, in theory and reality, people voting by mail should account for delays, both in getting ballots they request, and in returning them. Took us a week to get a ballot after requesting it by email/pdf, when mail takes a day from downtown. I dropped it off at the post office, and it was delivered and logged in as received the next day, but that was two weeks ahead of the election, which isn't until tomorrow.

So, yeah, voting by mail takes a little planning, and accounting for delays.

FWIW, I'm not real impressed by their test. All the votes by mail look the same, go to the same place, and there will be many of them. The post offices will throw them all into their own barrel and there's little chance for accidentally stuffing ballots into the wrong PO boxes.

When some 21% of the vote isn't counted, and you appear to be satisfied that this is an accurate vote tally?

Seems like a really, really low bar there.
