On Fox News this morning it is being reported that more and more democrats are telling Biden NOT to debate President Trump. Do they understand what a disaster that would be for Biden?

If Biden is incapable of debating Trump, if president, how could he go toe to toe with our enemies in the world?

The old gaffer is going to have to come out of his basement and face the voters sometime!!!

Trump on stage debating Biden would look bad, very bad. I'm looking forward to it.

Biden is between a rock and a hard place. His hiding time is over. If he debates, he is highly likely to screw up. If he doesn't he will get crushed.

Biden has already agreed to debates. If I were President Trump I would hold him to it. If Biden is a no show, I'd hold the debate anyway with just Trump being thrown softballs, and an empty chair for Biden.

Debates, those shows have never been actual debates, personally I find them a complete waste of time.

The liberals have backed themselves into a corner. Their presumptive candidate has hundreds of videos and photos groping young and in some cases old females. They have a candidate that used his VP position to make his family rich while doing nothing in 40 years of politics. And a candidate who clearly has mental problems which appear to be getting worse. I'd say dump him, but next in line is an unlikable fake Indian.

The reason democrats are in the corner you describe is because they blew all their time and money trying to prop up the worst president in the history of the country, and then again trying to make the corrupt serial liar Hillary look presentable. They forgot to put any one in the on deck circle.3

If there is no fact checker on stage with power to immediately point out lies, there is no reason for VP Biden to debate the most specifically dishonest President America has ever seen.

I'm not sure Obama is the worst President in history, but Hillary is up there in terms of unlikeable candidates.

There was the one Democratic Primary debate that was actually substantive and informative...because there was a pandemic and therefore no audience. We learned that day what many of us had always suspected: it's the presence of audiences that are making debates a waste of everybody's time.

Remove the audience and you'll have a truly revealing debate between Biden and Trump.

Exactly my thought.

First, Biden at this point in time is walking all over Trump in the polls all across the nation. Even Moscow Mitch has told GOP senators to toss Trump over the side if it will help them win. Trumpublican Party's loyalty to Trump is falling apart. Even Trumpublicans know a national loser when they see one.

Second, Biden and his people know full well that Trump will **** up royally many times before November. Hell, the entire world knows that.

At the present why in the world would Biden debate Trump? Biden's ahead by double digits, Democrats may flip the Senate, as America and the world are beyond tired of Trumpian chaos, non-starts, false starts, sudden and inexplicable jerky 180 turns of direction, pathological lying, gross inexcusable ignorance, rudeness, psycho-babble, and relentless self-aggrandizement. Trump is conducting a magnificent effort of political suicide. Biden is giving Trump all the room Trump needs to destroy himself and the GOP.

If and when Biden needs to debate Trump I'm sure Biden will. Trump's ineptitude, ignorance, and mental health are not going to improve. The longer Biden waits to debate the more Trump will screw up.

If they do debate, I'm with you about having a fact checker particpate. I'd like to have a fact check buzzer for both of them, to be honest. I'd add a mendacity meter and have a running tally.

He should set conditions:

- Only the person whose turn it is has a live mic.
- If the person whose turn it isn't still tries to shout over, they are escorted off-stage for five minutes and that time goes to the speaker.

Otherwise it'll be two hours of not a puppet not a puppet ur a puppet! nasty man! nasty man!



EDIT: The fact-checker is another good idea. Trump lies out of every orifice 24/7.

The opposing candidate gets rebuttal time. It's up to them to do their own fact checking.

On the contrary, there's every reason for Biden to debate. Elections are won or lost during debates. Most recently 2016. Democrats are understandably dubious about Biden's capability, and rightly so.
