Saw that also, seems real off that trump would not want his last winning moment to be widely viewed. Are Republican conventions going be double secret affairs, do they know Americans tend to be suspicious of behind doors meetings.

Yep, I don't see Trump liking this, so I have no idea what's going on there.

In either case, I don't mind the made up celebration of Trump having no press.

His nomination will be streamed to everyone in the free world...including the press. The Internet doors will be wide open. No media filter.

Will the Democrats do the same? Or will their doors be closed to everyone BUT the press?

Does it chap your ass that the Internet has made the press unnecessary? Did it chap your great-grandfather's ass when the automobile made the livery stable unnecessary?

Actually a good idea. In this day and age where COVID is rampant and anybody in the vicinity of Trump signs his own death warrant, Trump is doing an excellent job by protecting our cherished media.
 
he should accept the nomination in the bunker with a few of his closest friends. sort of like this, except with added social distancing.
