Brix Recommends Face Shields- CDC Disagrees

July 1st 2020, CDC updated their guidelines and recommendations for face coverings to combat Covid-19 saying that quote;

" Face Shields are not recommended protection" Further stating " It is not known if face shields provide any benefit as source control to protect others for the spray........"

And now, just days ago, Dr Brix contradicts the above saying in addition to mask, face shields should be worn with goggles. The constant moving of the goal post and other blatant errors are building the mistrust of health officials. Link to Dr Brix comments

I have 4 shields:

Can't wear well with a hat

Shield scratches easily thus screws with vision

Wearing with mask and goggles seems impractical

Wearing goggles with glasses???????

Which shield is the Dr Brix representing?

A "proper mask" should accomplish the objective

Go ahead. Wear a shield if you are worried about being on a vent. Have at it. Why is she going against CDC?

Birx made no contradiction. She clearly stated they were diff techs for diff uses. The mask is more to protect others. The shield is more to protect the user.

She is not - the CDC recommendations are to help protect others (by covering one's nose and mouth) while adding eye protection is to help protect the wearer from others. Keep in mind that any airborne viral droplets which contact your eyes drain directly into your nose.

CDC does not say that is so. They recommend opposite as it does not help stop the spread. That includes me catching it from someone wearing a FS Brix recommends.
 
Ah yes.....while the virus rages through the country preparing for a mid-western onslaught as we speak, the Administration continues at war with itself.

In the meantime, the IDIOT WH representatives, Mnuchin and Meadows in talks with Hill DEM leadership want a temporary COVID relief package. How temporary you ask? ONE WEEK.

One week. The GOP can't even agree with itself in one week or likely two for that matter.

Who are they kidding!!! These are simply two examples of why we need throw the bums out in November. The GOP can't govern. They have not had the will nor the skills to govern for at least three decades or more. They don't even care to try. Trump is simply an extreme example of this particular characteristic of the contemporary Republican Party.

The CDC is so F'ed up that I just can not deal with the stupidity coming from that organization any longer.

Businesses all over the country are putting plexiglass up to seperate people from sneezing or coughing on each other.

Any object resisting a projectile heading from or toward your face will add a level of protection that is greatly appreciated from your fellow human beings.

Makes sense when you actually read her explanation

“The mask protects others, to block those droplets and block that contamination that happens when you speak or sing or talk, or even breathe,” Birx said on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning.

“The thing about the face shields — we think that could protect the individuals and that it would decrease the ability for them to touch their eyes and spread the virus as well as those droplets coming towards them. So there are two different technologies for two different reasons.”

Look around you. People touch surfaces, touch their mask, touch their face, touch surfaces, without being aware. Oh, and according to ads, we are to believe that food being served by those very people is safe to eat.

I disagree. The CDC clearly states use of face shields does not help prevent spread of Covid.

Facemasks do work. Even the likes of Sean Hannity fully support their use.

That said, nothing is perfect. Sooner or later everyone will be exposed.

If I say something that you do/have not isn’t contradiction. If I say something opposite of what you say, that’s contradiction.

You made a claim that Birx contradicted what the CDC said. She did not. You can’t prove that she did. It’s YOUR citation. You made a false claim. State what Birx said and what CDC said in contradiction. BTW, Birx is not part of the CDC. Trump’s CDC, in this case, is not contradicting itself per Birx.

Yes, Birx said wearing a shield helps protect me from a spreader. To thus, is stating use of a shield helps stop the spread. CDC says otherwise as noted
