Trump Threat of Not Leaving Office Irrelevant

Are they binding if he's no longer POTUS?

Technically? Legally? No. I'm just responding solely to the idea of SS forcibly removing Trump from the White House.

I have no idea how any of this is going to work out because while we're all dealing with present uncertainties, Trump is busy manufacturing brand new ones that we're not able to predict. That means that before now and January 20, up to a dozen or more new and unforeseeable crises are going to erupt at Trump's hands.

This may or may not be relevant, but you have to know that the only Secret Service agents allowed within a thousand mile radius of Trump have signed loyalty oaths to him.

And Trump signed a loyalty oath to Putin which is why he hasn't said one bad word about him since he started his campaign and it's why he blamed America when he was asked why he didn't say anything to Putin about paying to have out soldiers killed, Trump said we did it too.

Laurence Tribe is a longtime Constitutional scholar. I'll go with him on this, so yeah, that means the law, not this diversional nitwit nonsense espoused by Trump, his racists and sub-80s.
Way ahead of you on Civil War II, and more than ready.
Had to remove that post. It certainly would get flagged, but it had something to do with me being aroused on a civil war battle field.

I pretty much agree....it's going to be unpredictable and fascinating. And possibly even more damaging to the country before he's muzzled for good.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Between now and January 20, Trump is going to leave our international alliances a smoldering wreck. That's just something we're going to have to deal with. I have no doubt that Trump is going to pull us out of NATO, and that it will take years to repair things with Europe.

IMO the ones that dont like what he's spewing are just going to sit back and wait until Jan. And then there are the ones that will want to take advantage of his last days...but hopefully it wont be anything that gets implemented in time...or gets very far along...before Biden can undo it.

Better question -- why is he focused on this? Why doesn't he care about the problems with in-person voting during a ****ing global pandemic??

Not sure and I don't plan to speak for Trump. Why don't you care about the problems with mail-in voting as an alternative? New York's primary was June 23, and some 6 week's later, thousands of disqualified ballots are still piling up and the counting has not been completed yet. This is for a primary, and with each state and county election board responsible for the logistics of mail-in ballots, educating voters and counting results... why would you see this as a realistic option for the entire nation in just 3 months? New York can't even get it right for a primary, where there is lower voter turnout, and you want to do the same thing for a national election and expect different results?

Because the problems with mail-in voting are not worse than the problems with in-person voting. That's why I don't care.

Thousands of ballots get thrown out when people vote in-person as well. Or are you not aware of this? And there is no paper trail in a lot of situations when people vote in-person, which is another major problem.

Plus, thousands of polling places have been closed throughout the country, due to COVID-19. So what OTHER OPTION is there other than mail-in voting? You really expect millions of people to vote in-person during this ****ed-up situation? Are you for real??

so much for the pretense of being a Swing Voter? I look forward to Trump winning and watching the heads of the TDS crowd explode like the Martians' heads in "Mars Attacks"

LOL. Funny how you guys brag about the 2018 election and then turn around and say that gerrymandering is why Republicans always win.

I wonder if I can get a couple of Trump followers to defend Trump as we get back on topic. They usually avoid what Trump says at all costs.

To distract from the fact that he was an idiot with his extremely poor management of the coronavirus pandemic, Trump makes himself look like a bigger idiot.

He told a television audience that we won't know the results of the election "for weeks, months, maybe years. Maybe we will never know the results."

Vladimir Putin could not be more happy with his protégé. Trump is aiding our foreign enemies, Russia, for example. They can use our President's own words in their disinformation attempts during the election campaign. If the President is maligning American elections, that is a huge advantage for the Russians.

Is Trump helping Putin on purpose or is he just being an idiot?

some claims cause me to brand other posts of the author as not being worthy of being taken seriously

one of those is the claim that Trump is some sort of bitch for Putin

Yes, good point. That's when he would unleash his military coup, with full support, of course, of the republican Senate!

Not relevant.

1. the election will not be delayed
2. there will be no military coup

Even when he loses, claims mail-in voter fraud on the part of the dems, and the finding is no fraud committed?
Personally, after him threatening last week that maybe the vote counting could take months or years to determine a winner, the thought of how much further would he be willing to go when it's him that is now tampering with the USPS causing delivery delays, yet setting up the dems as the frauds.

Ramping up to support a national election by mail-in ballots will be a disaster .. so yes, I completely support voting in-person for the upcoming election because I don't want the legitimacy of my vote to be dependent on multiple touch points along its journey when several states are struggling with mail-in ballots for their primary at a state level. Questions?

The election will be a bigger disaster voting in-person, since the Republican Party wants to suppress the vote and limit the number of voting locations. The lines will be ridiculously long due to the limited number of voting locations, especially in Democratic districts, which is EXACTLY what the Republican Party wants. Thousands, perhaps millions, of people will go home without voting. You know it, I know it.

And, oh yeah, did I mention the ****ing global pandemic that has already killed over 150,000 Americans?? How clueless are you??

Voting in-person is the Republican Party's only chance of prevailing in November, so that is the ONLY reason why they are whining about mail-in voting. Which is most likely the primary reason you are against mail-in voting as well.

Why don't you propose a realistic outcome instead of just complaining? If mail-in is the right option with all of the ongoing challenges to implement it in less than 3 months, educate voters and streamline the process .. how would you do it?

I'm complaining? You're the one who started all of the whining about mail-in voting.

The problems you speak of are minimal, and they are trivial compared to the problems of voting in-person during a global pandemic. Several states have had over 50% of their citizens voting by mail for years, and you're acting like we are reinventing the ****ing wheel.

This is all bull**** distractions by Trump and Repugs, because they know they are going to get their asses kicked in November.

Prior to COVID, there were only 5 states which conduct their elections by a mail-in ballot system, and the total population of all 5 states is barely higher than the state of New York -- one of several states currently struggling with mail-in voting system. I wouldn't consider it complaining that Democrats want to rush full steam ahead with mail-in voting considering the huge surge in demand, logistics, delays, educating voters and other anomalies that are inevitable with using a system that's not mature enough to handle it; Rather, I'd consider it an irrational thought process to attempt the same thing as several states and expect a different result .. you know, the definition of lunacy.

You confuse me with someone who agrees with Trump on this issue. But, in a way, he is right. Recent elections have proven that mail in balloting results in hundreds of thousands of votes not being counted due to several different reasons. Personally, I don't believe that mail in voting helps one side or the other. But, the left seem to believe that mail in voting helps them more. Both you and Trump are wrong. But, with elections being closer and closer I'm not really happy in knowing that I won't know who won a close election for days, weeks, or even months. That seems unacceptable to me.

In your posts Trump is always right no matter to whom you are posting.

It's also amusing watching you trying to speak out of both sides of your mouth while you are actually speaking out of the right side only.

So do continue, please and thx cause you're a laff riot.

There are multiple touch points for in-person voting too. And those ballots can end up in stairwells or otherwise lost just like mail-in ballots.

Ummmmmmmmmm, I just said in a post that Trump has many shortcomings, many.

You don't care about the "problems" with mail-in voting. This conversation is a total farce. You just don't want the whole country voting by mail because it means total destruction of Trump and the Repug Party.

The stupid problems you're whining about pale in comparison to making millions of people vote in-person during a pandemic. So space me your false bull**** concerns about mail-in voting.

Ahhh yes .. another DP personality attempting to channel my internal thoughts and communicate what I'm thinking. I would suggest you stick to your day job and not get into soothsaying.
