President Barack Obama Delivers The Eulogy John Lewis Deserves

OK... lol... I guess it's just a coincidence then.

How could I be offended by it? He wasn't at a funeral for a family member of mine.

I believe, just as most descent people do, that when a politician eulogizes someone at a funeral, they are there to pay tribute to the deceased, not to make political stump speeches. It's a cheap, low class thing to do and very disrespectful. The fact that you go after me for saying this, rather than acknowledging how inappropriate it was for Obama to do, say a lot about where you priorities lie.

Nobody's opinions on this board mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but we express them anyway...

And there it is... You resort to dishonest, hyperbolic rhetoric rather than simply asking me a question.

I'd be happy to answer that question if I thought for a second you really wanted me to... But it's obvious you just wanted to get a shot in, because remember "nobody cares" what I think.

.

It isn't a coincidence. It's your stupid posting. You have leftists on the brain.

Your opinion on Obama's speech means nothing. Just like your opinion on what is being said at Billy Bob's funeral down the road means nothing. When you die, your family gets to choose how you are honored. And the smart people won't be stupid enough to voice their opinions to your family, because the smart people know that it isn't anyone else's business.

You don't need to answer the question. You adore the leftist Trump, and wouldn't criticize him if he shot you in broad daylight.

...when it comes to pushing your political agenda, nothing is sacred...

Unlike Trump? LOL

Bush as a President was terrible. Did you miss the point where I stated that Bush was the cause I left the GOP for the LP?

I'm just saying, I like him a lot more now that he's not President and that he sounds far better than he ever did while in office.

I thought Bush was a horrible president, little did I know what conservatives were capable of. Bush sounds so eloquent now. However horrible president Bush was, I never had the feeling he loved power and making money more than Americans. I don't believe he would have ignored Putin's attack on our Soldiers.

His eulogy is another example of the gulf between the moral and immorality of our political parties. In the 11 years since Bush, Trump voters have lost their way and with open arms have accepted Trump's hate and division...

Grim17 pretending to care about Lewis's family so that he can make the usual partisan attacks on America's first black president? Color me shocked.

Then again, Grim17 is the same guy who constantly defended the ongoing birther movement with repeated whattaboutism, as if the fact that someone accused Obama of lying about his birthplace and religion first made it OK for everyone else on the right who did it later.

No concern about how insulted Obama and his family might be by birthers. No, that was OK because whattabout Hillary. You don't care anymore about Lewis's family now then you did about Obama's then. In both case, you're simply using an issue to attack a perceived political enemy.

And just think for a moment about how silly your act is. Lewis's family is not offended, or they'd have said so. You - another white conservative - are acting like they should be offended, even going as far as pretending to be offended on their behalf. Why do you people think you know what's good for black folk better than, y'know, black folk?

Very well said and to the point!

Why was there no SD'ing at Lewis' funeral?

There you go again... You resort to falsehoods and dishonest rhetoric rather than having a discussion.

At least you confirmed I was right, that your question wasn't asked in order to get an answer, but used as an opportunity to take a shot at me and avoid the point of my original post.

George Bush was the same man 20 years ago, as you saw at Lewis's funeral. The only difference today is those on the left are no longer so blinded by political hatred that they can't see it.

I never allowed my political disagreements with former democratic presidents I opposed to cloud my judgement about who they were as people. When it comes to being a good person, I think Jimmy Carter was as good a person as anyone who ever sat in the oval office, even though he was a terrible president. I saw Bill Clinton as a pretty descent president, but always though he was a not-so-great human being. I thought the old label "slick Willy" was pretty appropriate.

.

He absolutely did. He brought everyone out of their seats.

I especially loved when he went off on how we need to restore "The John Lewis Voting Rights Act" which is really just a restoration of VRA 1965 but with some important extras, like:

1. Election Day - NATIONAL HOLIDAY
2. Automatic registration unless opted out

----and....I'll have to replay the speech to remember the other two or three extras because I have a lot on my mind this morning, but maybe someone else or even you remember what they were.

Point is, with VRA gutted as it was by SCOTUS in 2013, we're insulting Lewis' memory and legacy and that must be corrected ASAP and ENHANCED and reinforced, in a way that it can never be assaulted or diluted ever again.

I agree Bush is the same man, but people's perception of him after Trump has changed dramatically. If I understand you, you're claiming this is due to liberal's hatred? It's not hatred, it's relative to their governance. As I mentioned, I never had the feeling Bush loved power and making money more than Americans and I don't believe he would have ignored Russia putting a bounty on our soldiers. After Trump. that makes me see Bush in a whole new light.

It's like when Bruce Willis was the hunky macho muscle man, until Dwayne John...

Lewis was well remunerated for his work

It's no wonder TRUMP didn't go to his quasi funeral

Mr Lewis

Never came to the objectively proper moral conclusion that abortion is murder a nd therefore should not be legalized in a supposedly civilized, advanced society
He was supposed to be a Christian but even aside from his paganistic view on abortion, he promoted other evils condemned in the Word

I love watching you cry when someone calls out your ignorance and racism against Obama.

White power!

Can you ever have an honest discussion, or is lying about people you disagree with all you know how to do?
