There were many things about Barr's testimony today that were alarming. I'll focus on just a few of them.
First of all, Barr's blatant partisanship during his testimony today was disturbing as hell. I've never seen anything like it before from an Attorney General. For example, Barr's moronic comments about Obama being responsible for the sorry state of COVID-19 testing in this country 3 years after he left the White House...what a ****ing joke. I expect to hear those types of hyper-partisan asinine comments from Republican politicians, not from the top law enforcement official in the country.
Secondly, Barr had a very difficult time when Congressman Cicilline questioned him about foreign election interference. Barr struggled to state the obvious -- that it's illegal for anyone running for elected office to seek assistance from a foreign country. Obviously, Barr has no problem with Trump doing something like this -- his pitiful, wishy-washy response to the question made that abundantly clear.
Finally, and most disturbingly of all, Barr would not give an affirmative answer when asked if he would make efforts to ensure that all votes are counted during the 2020 election. Barr has also been spreading the Trump myth about mail-in voting being ripe with fraud. Barr is already looking for ways to make sure that millions of votes are cast aside in an effort to help Trump steal the 2020 election. If that happens, the U.S. is obviously finished as a democracy.
