TICS White House reportedly orders hospitals to bypass CDC during COVID-19 data collection

White House reportedly orders hospitals to bypass CDC during COVID-19 data collection - The Verge

Now for what possible reason would the WH want to cut the CDC out of the information chain? We know why the trumpers will like this news, don't we?

The first three paragraphs of the letter from HHS to the hospitals gives their precise reason for the new process. If you had read it, you wouldn't have had to ask your question, now, would you?

Are you, once again, pretending not to know things?

You've always been a loyal toady to everything the Dirtbag administration has done but I always thought your eyes were wide open to the hugely corrupt and dishonest enterprise and approved of it. But I never took you for a sucker. You don't actually believe that cover story, do you?

Un****ingbelievable.

It's more believable than the conspiracy theories you come up with.

This is a sad moment for me. I always gave you credit for being at least somewhat cynical but it turns out you're just another Dupe for Dirtbag.

Oh, and it's not a "theory" when it actually exists. Dirtbag doesn't even try to hide his corruption any more---not that it wasn't always pretty obvious anyway. That's why I made the mistake of at least giving you credit for knowing that. Turns out you're just another one of his suckers. SAD!

Wouldn't it have been simpler to just have the CDC share this data with these other stakeholders? Why the need to send the data to a private company whose CEO just happens to be a real estate developer and GOP supporter?

What would you have expected in the letter? An outright admission?

The CDC was already sharing this data for the whole country to see. But THAT was the problem. Dirtbag & Co. have been bitching about the bad numbers and trying to undermine the science and scientists at the CDC for some time. He sidelined them long before that. This is just part of an ongoing effort to hide the truth and promote and propagate the lies of Dirtbag Donnie. And it's killing people. The POTUS is literally trying to kill people. The only bright spot in this is that he's so hamfisted in his corruption that it almost literally calls itself out.

You didn't read the letter, either.

It's not just about the CDC. It's about hospitals having to send the same data to numerous agencies. The new procedure lets the hospitals...or the states, under certain conditions...send the data to one place, who will then make it available to all the various agencies who want the data.

It's called being efficient.

Why does it take sending it to a private company to be efficient? Why can't all the "numerous agencies" be directed to get the data from the CDC? Who will own the data after it's sent to TeleTracking? Is it worth $10.2M of your tax dollars?

Yes.

And...?

Wait...don't tell me...you have some unsupported conspiracy theories about this, right?

Don't bother. I'm not interested.

I dont have a problem with both places getting their information directly from the hospitals. Serious question, is there something that prevents that from happening?
From my perspective the more parties interpretations of the data, the better.

Yes, the directive the administration sent out last night prevents them from sending the data to the CDC

That doesn't mean the CDC won't get the information. It just means they get the information from a centralized data collection procedure...as will any other agency that needs the data.

Efficiency and consolidation is a good thing...especially for the hospitals who have spend time and money to provide the information.

That i think is unfortunate and the cdc should be allowed to have the same raw data. I think the administration deserves criticism on that level

SAD. All that pretense of being a smart and thoughtful conservative has always been a ruse.
