Mike Pence: "We don't want CDC guidance to be a reason why people don't reopen their schools."

Video

So I guess it comes down to what...Jesus saving?

If you listen to the 12 second video, it actually tells you. He is talking about decisions being made locally, and I agree with him on that. Do you know where that speech was, so we could here more than a 12 second "gotcha?"

God. These people are idiots.

I keep wondering the same thought. Why do we pay to have qualified and intelligent experts on hand to simply disregard what they say in favor of the opinion of some idiot?

You mean right after Trump demanded that all schools open fully in the fall (or else)?

Can't really have it both ways.

Now the excuse is that Trump believes in personal responsibility (except for him of course) and we are all are to blame for the failure of the U.S. to control the virus. That is the latest buck passing meme.

I was listening to a talk show today with Mr. Sebastian Gorka, soon to be appointed to a government position by President of the United States of America Donald Trump. One of his call-in enablers noted that President Trump speaks with the voice of God. Now, that's something to ponder over. How does this woman know what God is thinking? She's surely a considerable number of pay grades above this poor old country mouse, and that's for certain. I've not been able to prove to my satisfaction that God even exists!

"Agnostic, n. A person who, diving deep in the Ocean of Truth in search of certainty, has failed to touch bottom." A Modern Dictionary, Fragmentary Press, 2016, Chelm, IA.

Regards to all.

What about having the people who actually know something about epidemics making the decisions? Isn't that why we have them? Why do you think people with no clue how to handle this virus should be making the decisions? That is what has been happening so do you think these results are good and we should keep up what we have been doing?

Because he and trump...

Know more than the scientists
Know more than the Doctors
Know more than the environmentalists
Know more than the economists
Know more than the generals

You really cannot have discussions with such people who are convinced they know it all. Or that their favorite pundits speaks the word of God.

Ah! That's the way our Constitution, dear to the hearts of 'conservatives', has it. We elect whomever the Electoral College elects. Then, that person, whose only requirements be that he/she be a 'natural born' citizen and be at least 35 years old, is free to do whatever he/she can get away with for four years before we, the people, can speak again. Even then, our voices may not be heard.* To add to the kicks and giggles, if the Senate is controlled by members of the same party as the president, the hand brake of impeachment may be out of order.

Regards, and welcome to our Republic as defined by our Constitution.

* Senate Majority Leader Addison McConnell, with respect to Supreme Court Judge placements, listened to the Electoral College, not the American people. And so it goes.

PS. 'Conservatives' is in snarky quotes. Today's conservatives could not even shine the shoes of the late Mr. William F. Buckley, an educated, thoughtful conservative.

It was a small (really small :) ) round table discussion Pence had at LSU today with their football coach and one or two other guys.

The football coach: "We have our team back and we’re ready to go. We need football,” Orgeron said. “This state needs it. The country needs it.”

Pence's comment was most likely with regard to CDC guidelines that also recommend to stop any team sports, including at schools and colleges.

I don't have a link to that round table discussion, but it's obvious the OP is having another meltdown over nothing. ;)

LSU coach Ed Orgeron to VP Mike Pence: 'We need football'

We want the consequences of failing to follow CDC guidance to be a reason why people don't reopen their schools instead?

wtf do these guys think will happen?
Do they believe their own bull****?
Are they scientifically illiterate? I know Trump is, but the rest of them too?

Here in Ohio, parents want their kids back in school and students want to return to campus in the Fall and it is looking like it will happen. We want football season to open and I am very optimistic that will happen too .

People have had it. It is time for people to learn to live with this virus like we have learned to live with dozens before it. People who are at the greatest risk need to take responsibility to protect themselves.

We all "want"t things. I, for example, want a pink pony.

BTW: DeWine has an emergency press conference scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30. I expect bad news.

Governors do not schedule emergency pressers to spew good news. :doh
