According to RealClearPolitics.com, Joe Biden and Donald Trump are in a statistical tie at 45% a piece. Texas has gone Republican since 1980, and been considered a "Solid Republican" or "Likely Republican" state by RCP polling standards. The fact that Biden is actually tied is rather significant and a very bad sign for Trump. We saw a poll out of Alaska showing Trump leading by 3% and within the margin of error.

Here are the most recent polls for June and July:

RealClearPolitics - Election 2020 - Texas: Trump vs. Biden

CBS News - Trump 46, Biden 45 (+1 for Trump, 3.3 margin of error)
Dallas Morning News - Biden 48, Trump 43 (+5 for Biden, 2.4 margin of error)
University of Texas - Trump 48, Biden 44 (+4 Trump, 2.8 moe)
Fox News - Biden 45, Trump 44 (+1 Biden, 3.0 moe)

This is not a good sign for Donald Trump. As I have said before, if these numbers continue for him, he's not going to accept the nomination. No way he's going to embarrass himself.

Nah, he'll just cheat harder! He might try to discredit the result and throw it to the House. If he can do that the lame ducks will vote him in. The votes are done by state delegations, not individual members. Republicans still have the majority in enough delegations to throw the election to Trump if that happens.

Trump needs to stay in office to outlast the statute of limitations.

All this means is Republicans have more motivation to suppress the vote, I am sure someone right now is plotting polling madness for overwhelmingly liberal areas of Texas.
