American Passports Are Worthless Now

Democrats like to visit the Nazi homeland so I am sure this is very upsetting for them.

Stop it.

Posts like this serve no purpose but to troll and bait.

You are confusing yourself. First you say that President Trump did not do enough. I respond by posting that he was the first G-10 leader to impose travel bans. Now you are saying that the bans were a poor security decision on Trumps part?

Remember : The USA banned travel with Europe FIRST, not the other way around. If you say that the USA was already "ravaged" with Covid-19 then you are admitting that President Trump made a wise move (for both the USA and Europe) when he instituted a European travel ban.

One itsy bitsy issue about Trump's 'travel bans' - the tens of thousands of Americans who were outside of the US when he instituted the bans. Those returning citizens were the primary cause of the Covid explosion in NYC, along with high density populaton.

I just read this Bloomberg article (link posted below).

"Yet the data show that the relative strictness of a country’s containment measures had little bearing on its membership in any of the three groups above. While Germany had milder restrictions than Italy, it has been much more successful in containing the virus".

"Germany, whose economy was shrinking before the pandemic, is already in recession".

I disagree a bit. It does show that a certain commenter knows little about Germany and the way in which it has dealt with its Nazi past and the Holocaust. Unlike those who fly Confederate flags and seemingly worship the statues - maybe we should call them idols because of the worshipping - of traitors to America, Germany has banned all symbols of the Nazis, there are no statues of Hitler or Goering or Goebbels. Instead, they have made the prison camps into exhibitions of the horrors the Nazis committed - the exact opposite of what Secessionists have done for the past 100+ years in America.

It would be interesting to find out the percentage of Democrats who have traveled outside of the USA compared to the percentage of GOPers.

Yea, the Democrat mayor saying not to be alarmed, the "Black Lives Matters" riots and general Democrat urban uncaring of the virus didn't play a core reason in the spike of cases in NYC? Give me a break!

also to be read in the Bloomberg article - which is two months old by the way.
Germany, with better testing and contact tracing and more intensive care units than its neighbors, could afford to keep the economy a bit more open.

Gee, I wonder what might have happened in the USA if "better testing and contact tracing and more intensive care units" had been available back in April and May. Of course, some Americans would have complained about "contact tracing" as being an imposition on their personal freedoms - actually, many still are complaining about that government action which isn't very widespread anyway.

I am betting that a good percentage of the uber right on this board don't even have a passport.

And that's fine to post that. I happily provided you a link to view the article.

HOWEVER, it does not nullify the parts of the article that I initially commented on. Do you disagree with the quotes of the article that I posted (below)?

Those billions of American tourist dollars will stay home.

Those bucks are paying the mortgage or rent for the swarm of Americans unemployed.

And whose fuel needle is on empty.

Maybe you could set up a borscht food kitchen to help 'em out.

Really shouldn't point at Germany's problem with anti-Semitism until the USA does something about the problem

Antisemitic Incidents Hit All-Time High in 2019

ADL annual report found more than 2,100 acts of antisemitic hate; 56 percent increase in assaults, five fatalities

The 2019 ADL Audit of Antisemitic Incidents, issued today, found that the total number of antisemitic incidents in 2019 increased 12 percent over the previous year, with a disturbing 56 percent increase in assaults. The audit found there were, on average, as many as six antisemitic incidents in the U.S. for each day in the calendar year – the highest level of antisemitic activity ever recorded by ADL.

In the end, Trump did what he said. He built a wall around America and made the world pay for it. He just never told Americans that they’d be stuck inside. Welcome to the Plague States of America. You can check out, but you can never leave.

I've already lived in Germany, I'm not currently a passport holder and I have no desire to go back to Europe. A non-issue for me.

I do own a passport, but I'm not interested in using it any time soon. Why would I need to when we have so much in the USA? For example; my last vacation was to sunny Hawaii, before that I visited green Vermont. My next trip will be to visit my father in either Florida or Colorado. So again, why would I need to go to Europe (which like other continents is having their fair share of problems)? And by the attitude of some of the Europeans on this forum it doesn't seem like Americans (regardless of their political affiliation) are very welcome to visit. The last thing an American needs these days is to travel abroad only to be mistreated, harassed and possibly assaulted.

The Nazi Homeland is actually USA, Hitler openly stated your treatment of blacks and natives as inspiration for most of his policies. Maybe look your own country first before insulting others.

That said, its a simple fact, that USA does horrible with covid 19

.....no, the Nazi homeland is Germany. It was German delusions about being “stabbed in the back” which propelled the rise of the Nazi Party to power. Stop trying to blame others for the atrocities your country committed.

Don't blame America for your country embracing an antisemitic lunatic who desired to enslave the whole of Europe and much of Asia.

Dont you mean a LEFTIST antisemitic lunatic? After all, the right wing proved that Hitler was left wing.

If Germany is so great, why are hundreds of thousands emigrating every year to other countries, including the United States?

Probably should have done that before the Islamic refugee crisis? During your short lifetime I have witnessed Germany completely lose its national identity.

You could not even spot Germany or Europe on a map. We have not lost our identity. You never had one to begin with.

We have less muslims than you have. And btw what you call a refugee crisis...is what you get each 6 months. We were able to stop it. Yours is still going on.

So Trump turned America into a Green nation while the rest of the world turned a sooty black? Works for me. #4MoreYears

Uh oh....the thread topic and map wasn't simplified enough for you......:(

Most Trump supporters have never travelled outside their own little town their whole life- where the main attraction is the local Dairy Queen, their idea of culture is yogurt, and the main educational opportunity is the demolition derby. So I can see why it wouldn’t be a problem for them.

Unfortunately, when it comes to my hometown, you are more correct than wrong.

Germany actually is considered now the most popular nation in the world

Germany replaces US as country with best international image | News | DW | 17.11.2017

Germany enjoys the best reputation of any country in the world, according to the latest Nation Brands Index. The survey found that there is much more than Germany's economic motor driving the positive image.

Yes it actually is. No high speed transportation. Cheap mass housing and unsusatinable watering of arid. I would not want live there.

Actually it would be horror for me to be there. Looks like a plastic settelement. No history. No culture. No nature.

I could not be happy there.

Its same that i experienced it San Francisco. Fake plastic ****. A nice facade but behind evrything is falling apart. Even the Golden Gate Bridge looked like its falling apart. On one side the color was peeling off in large scales. The infrastructure and streets were worn down.

As i said, to live there would be not something that would be acceptable for me. MAybe for one or two weeks on a vacation but no more.

Is that a freshwater lake?

Being an American and having a go at a German town for not having a mass transit solution in a tiny part is hilarious.
Germany has way, way superior public transport than the US.
Germany is not lacking in public transport and public transport is not seen as only a solution for the poor in Europe as it is in the US.

Saying Germany has no history or culture are you bloody serious? Really?
