NYPD forced to impose limit on officers filing for retirement amid 400% surge of retirement filings

Which one, exactly, is the hundreds and hundreds of taking early retirement veteran New York Police Officer committed police brutality? Against who, where and how?

Says the person who believes this:

I wish the USA would stay a white majority, but it won't.

We know what your ulterior motives are, Joko, and they stink. :)

Again, I do not doubt the emotional strain on police officers. But the annual death rate for officers is around 1 in 10,000, and most of those are from traffic accidents, slips, or falls.

Once you factor those out, police work is not much more physically dangerous than a desk job.

Well if you think it is that easy why aren't you and a lot of other people policemen
YOU said it is just like a desk job.
so it must be real easy and everybody would be out there and become policemen
You have NO idea what you are talking about
Have a nice night

My taxes pay their salaries, so I get to have a say in what they can and cannot do. Sorry that you don't understand this. :(

Have a nice night

Why do you keep saying this? That's how you sign off.

So you claim that if someone is beaten and kicked, stomped, that does not constitution any physical harm? There is no harm if someone with covid-19, TB and/or HIV spits into your eyes or bites deep enough to draw a lot of bloods - there is now physical harm according to you. If you get slugged it the face, it did not harm you. If you are left in a wheelchair for life due to being shot, you were not physically harmed.

Not one rational person on earth would believe you and fully disagree. You would say there is no physical harm if a cop did it to you, rather than you did it to the cop. Either way, no one was physically harmed.

And MINE don't???
Well maybe YOU should complain to your city / town board and tell them you want the police Contract renegotiated and take away all these benefits the police get
and see just what quality of people they get to become police officers
Sorry YOU don't seem to know just what these people do and go through and that they do really deserve everything they get
I don't know about everybody else on here but you sound like one of those people that want to de fund the police
what I found really funny earlier in the week was a de fund the police protest called the police
to provide protection for their protest
and they really thought the police would show up,

and why I keep saying that is I was brought up with manners and I know how to be polite
Maybe some other people on here should learn some
Have a nice night

Man, just because they can't shoot black people willy nilly any longer? Damn.

Why do cops need to, blacks shoot each other at a voracious rate?

LOL the officers pay taxes on their own salaries as well, as you hypocritically fight to give illegals tax free money.

If they want any benefits on the way out, they should face the same insane delays that we treat processing immigrants.

Or they can freely forfeit all benefits and immediately quit. :)

Why are immigrants any kind of priority? Immigration is a federal matter, NYC police are a NYC or NY state matter

Exactly. We didn't choose them, they chose us. And they don't do police work out of the kindness of their hearts, we pay them with good benefits!

Can we not criticize teachers as a culture because they have a tough job? How about mental health workers?

The only thing I ever agree Reagan did right was how he approached the FAA crisis. You can't allow essential workers to go on strike and intentionally leave our infrastructure vulnerable, or we'll have power workers, nurses, paramedics/fire fighters, doctors, and everybody in between taking the country hostage through the same means.

Them having a difficult or hazardous job does not mean they get to run roughshod over the rest of us.

The pearl clutching just got REAL...

Wow, talk about coming in the middle and completely missing what the discussion is about.....great job....

A. He was talking about taking away all their pensions and benefits if they retire.
B. They pay taxes on their salaries as well, so....do they get to tell them self what to do ?

a lot of times I do not agree with a lot of stuff you post but on this one you got it right
He doesn't seem to know squat about any of this
He is sitting in his little world where everything is just the way he likes it and doesn't get out in the real world much
Talking to a person like that is just useless
Have a nice night

Blue cities don't want cops, don't want to fund police depts, so let all retire now. DeBlasio has it all under control. He can hire Eric Dyson or such to conduct a racial conference on white guilt or similar nonsense and all will be cool. Black cities should have only black police forces. If somethings goes wrong , it's on them.

May I ask where do you get all this BS from?
most of the " Blue " cities I have ever been in back their police dept.
Don't take what a FEW people say as being what real people want and back

Police work is not very physically dangerous, no matter how much the far-right insists otherwise. Emotional health, however, is a real problem for officers.

What do you mean by "not very" physically dangerous? I have seen reports where being a LEO is within the top 20 most dangerous job. Here is general search listing a bunch of articles than run the gambit of how dangerous it is or not.

how dangerous is it to be a police officer - Google Search

I do agree with you that the emotional / mental health from doing the work is a problem for many LEO's.

LOL so hardworking cops who've put their lives on the line for 20-30 years to save the lives of ungrateful Dem Libs, don't even deserve their pension.

Typical rhetoric.

I saw a cop save the life of a trapped horse once. Never saw one save a Dems life. Got a link for that?
