‘Big Mess’ Looms if Schools Don’t Get Billions to Reopen Safely

His “process” has no more than a month to come up with an answer or it’s going to be a mess in the fall. Golf this weekend?

It's not Trump's process. It's the Constitution's process...and it starts with Congress.

That means Congress has no more than a month to come up with an answer.

Trump is the jackass pressing for school openings. Just like he pressed states to reopen far too quickly.

How has that worked out?

Pretty good in Colorado.

Its worked out fine in Ohio. When would you open schools? And when would you have opened states? Im guessing your answer to both would be right after Biden won the election. This is all political to you. You are about one thing--Trump losing. And you oppose anything that will hurt your cause. Who do you think you are fooling?

I hope the education establishment doesn't pretend that the full money provided (for supplies, regular budget concerns due to shortfalls, etc) overrides many of the inherent barriers to safety during this crisis. We're still taking about scores of kids and staff in one room, hallways, bathrooms, breathing the same air.

Like they have been in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, France ... for weeks/months?

I seriously doubt that schools will open this fall.

Even if some do, they won’t stay open long.

First, states need to decide if they are going to open their schools or not.

Next, if they need financial help, their Congressional Representatives...House and Senate...need to create proposals in their respective chambers.

And finally...if all THAT gets done, Congress can send an aid package to the President.

We'll see if any of that gets done.
Agreed.

btw, why do states need guidelines from the feds? Can't they create their own? After all, they know better the conditions in their own states.
There needs to be a baseline applicable to all states. Each individual state can tailor them to their needs.

As well, the federal government has more resources at its disposal. There are federal agencies created for just this thing.

Why's that? What's your prediction?

The democrats in the house have already proposed something. Do we agree that it's the republicans and the president who need to now come to the plate?

As President Trump and others push to get students back in the classroom this fall, educaters say they need more support and clearer guidelines.

Akin to the failed and tragic state reopenings, the federal government has put precious few financial/material resources into reopening school systems this fall.

schools always need more money no matter how much they get. As being a teacher from a family of teachers I can attest to that

Nancy Pelosi must really hate kids.

possibly it is that she has affection for older teachers, administrators, custodians, and the elder caregivers of the children who will become exposed to what they were exposed to in school

Im sure dumbass liberals will blame Trump because thats all they know how to do.

couldn't be because he was deserving of the blame

The Congressional Reps...sure. Once Congress has worked things out, then it'll be the President's turn.

btw, have the House Dems actually sent a bill to the Senate?

weren't you turned out from that teaching position?

Trump is not a king. He can't tell Congress what to do.

But he is orders hools to open with out consulting congress. I thought he was king

terminated from four teaching positions and then present to us that "schools always need more money no matter how much they get. As being a teacher from a family of teachers I can attest to that"

your skill base, as presented, appears oversold

Trump hasn't ordered schools to open. He doesn't have that power.
