My governor ron desantis is proof. Covid skyrocketing and insisting schools open, sounds like his idol trump, no?

Are doctors stunningly stupid and arrogant too? Of course, you probably know more than doctors. If it can be done with safety measures in place, it should be done, according them.

What are FL guidelines for reopening schools (Not just one county)? Are they going by CDC guidelines?

So DeSantis is "your" governor, yet Trump is not "your President"? How's the death rate there? Aren't people being treated and recovering? Do you just need to whine?

The doctors aren't the ones being exposed.

The guidelines do note that adult school staff are more at risk compared to young children and need to be able to distance from other adults as much as possible — no in-person faculty meetings, no class visits by parents. And they emphasize the need to make accommodations for students who are medically fragile or have special health care needs or disabilities.

However, these guidelines don't necessarily address the health concerns of America's teachers or their willingness to return to in-person teaching. Federal data show nearly a third of teachers are over 50, putting them in a higher risk category when it comes to the disease.

Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia, for example, recently announced its reopening plans, offering families a choice between two days a week of in-person classes or an all-remote schedule plus extra intervention on a third day for students who need it. The county's three educator unions resisted, arguing in a statement that remote learning should continue. "Our educators are overwhelmingly not comfortable returning to schools," said Tina Williams, president of Fairfax County Federation of Teachers. "They fear for their lives, the lives of their students and the lives of their families."

People deemed 'essential' workers have been out there working throughout this entire pandemic. Schools are essential and so are teachers. They need to be prepared to go back to work.

If you bother to look I've said numerous times on here, our president. I'm pretty sure I'm included in our? Yes people are being treated and recovering and yes the death rate is up in florida.

I didn't mean to 'whine' about one hundred and thirty thousand dead americans with more to come. I guess to some folks that's no big thing.

They're concerned. I take their concerns seriously. Your demand of "get to work" is noted.

If you subtract out those who would normally die anyway, the low death rate from the pandemic is not as bad as you "progressives" would have the world to believe. It's bad enough, but please stop screaming the "sky is falling".

The death rate is always low for Trumpsters until it hits home. Hopefully that will not happen to you or yours, but I think you get my message. And in the end if you have 200,000 cases and your death rate is 6% you have 12,000 dead, but another country has 3,500,000 and their death rate is 4%, as is ours, you have 135,000 who is better off? That is the problem with spouting off about low death rate. If you have so many more cases, death rate means little.

The governor of FL. is leaving it up to local governments to decide. I would imagine if will go like the Pinellas school district.
