Liberals don't want Biden to debate w Trump... LOL (T Carlson)

That is why Sanders is where he needs to be, in the Senate pushing progressive policy. As for Sanders as President, he could never win the electoral college, plain and simple= 4 more years of disaster donald

Losing is hard on some people. As it relates to politics I don't understand it, but I do accept it. (Now if we're talking Bears, Bulls or White Sox, that's a different story, as it should be.)

As we see hourly here, the push to label Democrats as Marxists is in full swing. I notice the attacks are rarely directed at Biden himself. Beyond being ridiculous, Trump doesn't have to at this moment. He has BLM. Trump must have a love/hate relationship with BLM; he gets to attack them as "Marxist," but the whole world is on BLM's side.

Here's the deal: If Sanders were the nominee, Trump would gain a two-fer. The attacks of Marxism would be directed at Sanders himself, while simultaneously attacking him for a lack of black support. Sanders may have been electable, but Biden is bulletproof against Trump.

So don't let Biden debate Trump. We'll have the debates anyway, and have way more than enough audio and video of Biden to supply his answers for him. It'll be hilarious. And given that Biden's a vacant vessel, his absence from the debate stage is hardly a loss.

Biden is going to debate trump, period

Since the Trump camp is advertising its weakness by trying to demand more debates, open the negotiations.

Stop the debate cold, on live tv, when Trump starts wondering around the stage, trying to troll Biden.

Better yet, let Biden opt out and let his veep debate Trump.

Then he can pick Kamila Harris.

She’ll skin Trump alive and nail his orange hide to the wall before he opens his mouth!

Biden's career forces him to look at America through many generational needs. I doubt very much Biden is a typical elderly person that when elected will spend his time reminiscing.

What I have witnessed is elderly persons retired, with less societal purpose, begin to reminisce.

I also work with persons in his or her 60s and 70s, they through daily interactions with all ages, remain current on U.S. generational desires and needs

My experience as well. Everyone I know uses their cell phone just fine.

I find it hard to understand dismissing somebody with Joe Biden's experience and wisdom, and his character grown out of tragic grief, on the basis he's not familiar with social media. Silly at best, bigoted at worst.

I agree with this in general, but it depends on the format. I don't know what the debate commission has planned, but if it were a format like the Biden-Sanders debate - no audience - Trump would be out of his element. I guess he could play to the camera, but I think it would be a challenge for Trump. Not that I see his approval anywhere north of 40% by then, but it would be one last nail in Trump's coffin to seal the deal. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Liked, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

This entire OP was based on b.s. Biden or supporters don't want a debate. I propose through watching 3 plus years of trump's con game and find it plausible that:

Trump will yell all over the media that he strongly desires the debates against Biden. Then as the debates get closer, and behind closed doors he and his campaign decide his polling numbers can't survive his buffonery on the debate stage.

The ruse: trump will go in front of the public continue to claim wanting a debate, but some scam will be invented (like his taxes can't be released d/t audits) and White House officials will come up with a b.s. crisis where trump will have to cancel debates.

Then donald will put on his snake oil show claiming he really wanted to debate and would have crushed Biden, his tiny little base will cheer!

I thought Friedman's suggestion that there be an agreed upon fact checker at the debate, who would report the veracity of the candidates' statements at the end of the debate, before television coverage ended, was a damn good idea.

Trump lies with impunity, and will cause a circus at these debates, unless constrained by the agreed upon rules. It would be hard to fight against the proposal for a fact checker, I would assume. (Not counting the Trumpsters here who fight for Trump's right to lie)

Friedman's other suggestion was that Trump's tax returns be made public before any debates occur. Biden has released his and it's time for Trump's audit to be over.

Tax returns are a deflection. They have no bearing on anything. THree debates right before the election will be a high risk for Biden, despite all of the media covering and spinning for him. When it gets down to policy issues Biden will look bad. Biden's immigration position is abysmal.

I'm sure a bookmaker would give you good odds on that. When Trump said he'd be the most transparent president, he wasn't kidding. The government is secret, but Trump is as predictable as the sunset.

Lol. 30 feet of wall is hilarious.

Americans really need to get to know Biden. Of course any politician will always have Americans for and against his voting record, that's the reality of the game.

But, Americans should look at the core of the man, a good man that truly cares about America and Americans.

I through family that live in Delaware, know a lot about Biden and the real man, not Fox propaganda

Mexico paying for the "Wall". Mister art of the deal get's schooled by Mexico's President. Tax payers pay for trump's folly. Talk about abysmal!

If I may divert from the debate topic, Jill Biden gave an interview on the Today Show last week. The video is under 8 minutes. If you get a chance, I recommend watching it. Melania never speaks, so I won't make a comparison between the first lady and former second lady, but after listing to Jill - especially the part where she tells Melvin her and Joe are a normal married couple who love, counsel and share with each other - I come away feeling the Biden's are no different than the couple next door.

Jill Biden opens up on Joe Biden’s VP search: '''I'''m thrilled''' he will choose a woman

Given that the DNC had never stood in the way of a Sanders nomination in 2016, you would have never seen a Trump presidency to begin with. The idea he "can't win" is based on anything but data. In fact the data we have shows centrists losing to Republicans because centrists don't stand for anything besides business as usual. In case you forgot, we have a reality game show host as President because people are fed up with business as usual.

But, Trump is THAT incompetent. He totally dropped the ball on COVID-19. But, if he hadn't I think we would be looking at a guaranteed Trump reelection. But, as of now, it looks like Biden will win in spite of his problematic record, propensity to lie, and incoherence.

I can't say I really care about a debate. I'll just point out a couple small details:

1)Trump wants a debate, and traditionally speaking the trailing candidate always wants a debate in hopes that it will help him close the gap. And traditionally speaking, the leading candidate will be leery of a debate because why change a good thing?

2)A debate in these circumstances can't be helpful for Trump. The Right has been lowering the bar for Biden for months now (senility, incoherent, dementia, etc.) so even if he pulls off a normal if not spectacular performance, he will have exceeded expectations thereby making him look intellectually superior to trump.

Not phantom, voters are yearning for a President closer to the middle

Not according to the polling they aren't.

Maybe in this climate of Trump, older voters want everything to go back to the glorious days of 2012. But, the country, broadly speaking is sick of Washington DC insider politics. There are too many problems that are happening simultaneously. Climate change, income inequality, systemic racism, and a broken healthcare system. Out of those 4 which ones do you expect Biden to advocate necessary and sincere policy fixes for?

saw this the other day and thought of the last 4 years here

I haven't finished my first coffee yet. Meaning?

Meaning that a debate with Trump is ultimately an exercise in futility.

Let's get real, a debate between Biden and Trump will change a negligible amount of minds.

??? 2012 was 8 years ago. How old are you? Glory days would be pre-1980.

Biden will address all of those issues. He has extensive policy positions on his website. You should read them.

Please show the polling that suggests Americans aren't wanting a shift to the middle.
