What fresh bull**** is this?
The former traitor states were not "caught up in a tragic situation." They literally sundered the nation in two and went to war to perpetuate slavery.
The civil war was a tragic situation for the country.
How it was handled after the war is a model for how other countries ought deal with an aftermath of such an unfortunate situation.
Yes, it is.
The vast majority of Americans no longer see any reason to keep Confederate statues around. NASCAR is banning the Confederate battle flag. Even Mississippi is taking the Confederate battle flag off of the state flag. Nor is it "mindless and ignorant" to realize that traitors and racists don't deserve monuments.
As above.
It should be pointed out that its not simply Confederate statues are being dismantled.
Repetition is not an argument.
Its not quite repetition. Those dividing the country are not the ones objecting to the statues being pulled down.
So what? Trump gets to lie to the public and spread the virus wider, because the virus first jumped to humans in Wuhan? That's completely absurd.
Infection rates and death rates are declining. The sharp uptick seems to be in relation to all the protests of late.
Don't think Trump can be blamed for that.
There is some thinking that Covid has mutated and that it is more virulent, though not more deadly.
But a lot is up in the air.
